Not buying any accessories right now. I'll see what I want/need, and then wait on likely cheaper 3rd party accessories.

That's my take on it. Get the headset now, and see what's what.

Plus I have one of those ravpower batteries, so I can always stick that in my pocket for a while lol

I caved and pre-ordered. Just 64GB version...with the bloody accessories which meant it wasn't all that much different in price to the G2 :D But hey ho. Certainly a lot easier than the other pre-order today...

dropped my quest off today @CeX, last day that my quote for £276 was valid. Got the phone call a while later to say they had tested and re-graded to A grade and giving me £292 !

Quest only 6 months old, but the "R" on the right controller was faded and a bit crickled and strap a little scuffed. Pretty decent to regrade to A when I had submitted it as a B.

And as confirmed elsewhere Quest is now £211 to sell.

So £8 to upgrade :)

No brainer isn't it. Cost me £23 as I was downgraded to B (disagree with that really, they were nitpicking, but I couldn't be bothered to argue because I knew the price wouldn't last long). Money was paid into my bank today.

Has anyone who pre-ordered had the money taken yet? I haven't. Maybe Oculus don't take money on pre-order?

For the CV1 they certainly only took the money when it was ready to ship in my case.

Me too :)

Just don’t know if to order the battery strap and case accessory now or after I receive the headset. Accessories might go in short supply initially?

Just ordered the elite strap and battery. I think they will be out of stock for awhile once pre-orders have shipped. What with another lockdown looming it could take sometime to get them back in.

Just pre-ordered the battery strap. I've not canceled the normal elite stap order though. I figure that these are going to be out of stock for a while so I'll be able to sell it for what I paid with no problem.

How did you manage that? I set up a sale with CEX on 15.09 @ A-grade for £292. Took it into store and was told that it wouldn't make A-grade and it most likely it would be re-graded to B, but at 17.09 prices which made it £188!?

Is this right? I would have thought they would honor 15.09 price point for 72 hours, even if re-graded. I've never sold to CEX before

Someone said earlier that in the online t&c's they can refuse to purchase anything, and can change prices without prior notification.

So basically what they're doing is refusing to purchase, then making you a new offer. I'd have thought £188 is still a pretty good price now to be honest, considering it saves a lot of hassle.

I understand that it's all a negotiation and that the store guy's job is to walk you down but it's the lack of consistency that drives me crazy. Tangey's store honored the price-point of the day that the sale was agreed, even when re-graded.

The staff probably screwed up and didn't check the prices like they should have done. Question of luck.

I didn't really do anything. Just as stated, dropped it in on the morning of the last day of my 3 day limit, and got a call to say they were upgrading to A and paying me £292.
couple of things

1) The cex app still says they are waiting for my item

2) The receipt I received electronically after the call has 2 lines

a) Buy in price honour......-£81
b)Quest grade a ............£211

Total.............£292

So it looks like they either did the decent thing, and adjusted the price for the price agreed even though the price that day was less, or the local shop accepted not knowing the price drop, and it had to be modified as they agreed the price with me on the phone

3) Receipt says Faster payment £292, but it hasn't arrived in my bank account yet, I'll give it to this evening and then call.

Not sure if it's been confirmed here, but Quest 2 definitely supports Wifi 6, so it may be that the link cable is not actually needed, and wireless will work well, of course requires virtual desktop.

Thanks Tangey. I still have my Quest and have until end of day to take into CEX. I'll take it back into store and take my chances. Thanks again

Mine came within 24 hours. If you have the payment pending email, it will come.

Also looks like you got lucky there just hitting that price reduction and they honoured it for you. I'm so glad I drove straight to CEX as soon as Zuckerburg dropped the price bomb on Wednesday night. Price bomb was like 18:15 ish, I was out the door by 18:25 and at CEX by 18:45! They first wanted to grade it 'in the morning' but then did me a great favour by doing it there and then. I wasn't gonna moan about a £16 downgrade to B as the risk was much bigger leaving it to the next day.

What Ive learned from this is not to bother requesting an A grade, a B is far more likely to be accepted quickly and lessens the chance of intermediate price drops.
