Quest 2 Facebook leak - XR2 chipset, 6gb RAM, "almost 4k display"

I was shocked they had stock too, then I remembered Oculus are not Nvidia.

Does anyone know if games bought on Rift will work on Quest 2 or are they being outrageous again by making you buy them on different platforms?

I mean will it transfer to the onboard memory or will I have to buy the Quest version to play standalone?

From what I read if games work on both the Rift and the Quest it's down to the individual developer, no hard and fast rule...I'm in the same situation and have a fair few games that should work on both but will wait and see...I know games bought via steam won't (even games that should) forcing future purchases to be made via Oculus if you want PCVR and the Quest version.

A few games i bought on my rift are showing as free on the quest app. It depends on the developer if they want to offer cross buy.

I think you are grossly underestimating the amount of work and time needed to make a game available on both Quest and Rift S. If you buy a game on a console, you don't get it free on PC. So why do people expect to get games free on the Quest just because they have the game already on the PC? Two completely different platforms.

It surprises me that any developer offers crossbuy at all.

I think this will be less of an issue in future - I can't see Oculus financing any more PC versions.

Potentially the last two Oculus PC games will be Lone Echo 2, and the new Call of Duty VR game (which is on Steam anyway).

I expect that Lone Echo and Lone Echo 2 will come to Quest 2 at some point.

I expect you are right. Shame that going forward Oculus won't have is it hand in PC VR games.

On the plus side, it would be great to have some Quest games with bigger scope, and Facebook may well finance and publish some bigger games - they've hinted at this. A game like Asgards Wrath, or even Skyrim VR would be amazing on Quest 2. These AAA games take time though.

At the moment the only decently long games are the sideloaded ports from Dr. Beef. In fact it'd be great if Oculus could pick up the licenses for these games and publish optimised ports themselves. If Dr. Beef can do it so well, why can't they?
 
I don't see why Yodal can't deliver tomorrow either - according to their tracker my parcel has been and gone from the local depot earlier today. What's it gonna sit on someone's van for 2 days? Just bring it! It's literally somewhere within a couple mile radius of my house right now.

exact same for me! Its down the road but have a wednesday delivery!
 
My JL order is being delivered by DHL. The order just updated with a tracking number, but no live info yet (and no text).

Update: Text message received! Being delivered tomorrow
