Quest 3 owners etc

Fair point :D
However, I'm pretty sure this wasn't happening prior to the update: The headset blacks out for a few seconds every time I adjust it on my face.

Anyone else?

I have this now and again even on earlier software versions.. a complete headset restart usually sorts it.. until it starts happening again.. and then another restart required..

I'm nicking your term 'borkdate'. Applies so well to what they're doing to the Pro.

don't worry, meta got you covered.

Meta's support is so erratic, it seems. I have either several support agents mailing me about certain posts I make, after initiating contact with one only, or I have none at all.
Having somewhat resolved, case closed, the non-issue with one of my controllers many many weeks ago I now get another support agent mailing me apologising for the lack of contact and late response, wanting to escalate the non-issue.
They are "good" enough to throw credit when certain points are made and yet, at times, seem to be script bound when it comes to certain replies.

I see what people mean by HL Alyx will ruin other VR games for you, looks great and is very immersive.

Had to use meta support to get referral credit that didn't work. They were super efficient to be fair and actually gave us £30 due to a few minor mixups.

Pretty much the same issue I had, mine was my fault as I had registered on a mates headset, so then when I tried to use someones referral link it wouldn't work, but, having been ghosted by support and not pointed at the the T&C's someone dropped in, told me what the issue was and gave me £30...

Ah they confirmed I'd done it all right (I checked after 14 days) but they said to wait until 30 had gone. It didn't trigger so went back, then they gave me $30 which I couldn't redeem as wrong currency obv, then they got it right on next attempt.

Has anyone done the work to get custom songs working on Beat Saber on the Quest 3? I'm really missing them! (And also curious whether you can do them in multiplayer.)

The instructions don't look outrageously complicated these days, as ModsBeforeFriday has automated a lot. But I'm not quite sure about an element of enabling developer mode, which is a requirement.

According to that you have to join or create an 'organisation'. Anyone know more about what on earth that means?

It's just creating a second account, where you can still use your primary account email address and give your card details, which you can subsequently delete. Once the dev account is created online you can enable it using the app and the dev mode options appear in the headset. Once you have dev mode, you have access to all the features and games on Sidequest as well.

I'm going to part of the club shortly as I caved at the current price. I'm not sure what to expect but suspect this is going to be quite the upgrade over my dust gathering OG Vive.

I have a Kiwi headset v4 thing and controller skins incoming along with some prescribed lenses so hopefully I'll be able to see in the blimmin thing when it does arrive. No doubt the referral thing for the shared store discount is a no no but whoever feels like not doing that in trust, go for it (:

Btw I think you'll love the Q3 after a Vive...beautiful pancake lense display, significantly higher res, wireless, mixed reality, standalone + pcvr. Getting lenses is a wise move.

Soz fellow, another scamp got in first.

Looking forward to it, especially a replay of HL:A. Also looking at the fitness related stuff as a means to sweat out me lard. The wireless stuff is definitely the boom for me; roll on next week when it arrives and the endless hours of tweaking to get the best performance out of my 3080. Suspect Virtual Desktop is the way to go, annoying as I already have it on steam but I guess I need to pay for it on Meta too!

If you're intending on getting getting a bit moist in the headset, then I'd highly recommend a facial interface with an extract fan fitted to it as sweat can very easily kill the electronics in a matter of weeks. Make sure the fan is set to extract and not blow as in the image.
