Quest 3 owners etc

Can't wait for the weekly golf game where missed shots are blamed on the controllers. (As happened to me when the Pro controllers kept glitching, honest!) :P

Hopefully the tracking will get better over time and not keep getting broken as Meta did with the Pro controllers.

Works great standalone, but I'm having all manner of troubles getting it to work with SteamVR via airlink, maybe because of where I had a Quest2 before, maybe I have to clear my steamVR profile or something

isn't it funny comparing real world customer feedback to youtube reviewers. The running theme on reddit is how bad the passthrough quality is.
Have to admit, it is total garbage, but not something I'd ever use personally.

The passthrough is better than the Quest 2 but its not anywhere near as clear for me as it was in the videos I've watched

I wouldn’t say the passthrough is garbage, but it’s certainly not as good as I was expecting from reviews/impressions. It’s similar in quality to the pico 4, but much better 3D and scale etc.

I have to say though when playing that mixed reality demo with the space ship and little fuzzballs it takes your attention away from the grainy video and actually works pretty damn well - was amazing to see the little buggers running along the back of the sofa and things interacting with all the furniture… I’m looking forward to seeing more content that leverages the mixed reality.

Overall I’m fairly happy with it - obviously it isn’t going to replace the crystal for sim/seated PCVR but I can see myself using it for all the rest.

I think the biggest goof is all the software not being ready for launch. There’s very little that shows off the new abilities and even gamepass which would have been cool isn’t available until December.
