Quest 3 owners etc

Mine is charging. I haven't switched it on yet but I have tried the headset on for fit. It's not quite as comfy with glasses on as I thought it might be as I can feel slight pressure on the left side of my glasses frame and I've pulled the cushion all the way out to the fourth notch. I guess it's ok but after a little play I'll be able to tell if I need to order prescription lenses. There's quite a gap at the bottom of the nose channel allowing light in and letting me see my hands, is it meant to be like that? I thought it would be light sealed.

i can offer some advice here

My suggestion is to change the facial interface for a better quality one with PU leather (VR Cover for example) and i ordered Prescription lenses this time (but I've not got my Q3 yet to try it with my glasses)

Just setup my Q3, have to wear my glasses as no prescription lenses just yet and after 30min you can feel the extra weight against your face so will have to get some on order from Adlens when they become available.

Just been testing the colour passthrough with DeoVR, very good ;)

Thanks. Yeah, I think prescription lenses are definitely on the cards and from the place you bought yours as the price is great. I also think I might be better off with the new BoboVR headstrap whenever it's released. I was going to go for Kiwi Design, but watching a video last night about the BoboVR for the Quest2, the reviewer described the Bobo as more like wearing a helmet, floating in front of the face with less pressure on the face. That would suit me better.

Would a better quality interface with PU leather alleviate pressure from glasses?

Actually, I've just pulled the overhead strap tighter and that's much more comfortable, not feeling pressure from my glasses now as the headset feels more 'lifted'. And that's with the cushion pushed all the way back in, so I'm feeling happier now, lol.

Seems dead or stuck pixels can appear any time, not just on a new set, the first Quest 2 developed a few short of a year, did all that flashing light stuff in the browser to clear it but no good.
Luckily the Big A changed it for me no probs
You would think with a new headset Quality Control would pick up on it, probably they do, but still send it out all the same, as some users might not notice.
I have nystagmus in my eyes, but they still stuck out like a sore thumb

and it's going back!!!!

trapped dust and dead pixel on right panel

That's it for me now until somnium vr1
I'm going to give it 1 more chance by ordering another, the 1st has already been posted back to Very. If the 2nd is the same then i think i'll be waiting for the vr1 too.

I'm convinced it's the manufacturing process of the tiny LCD panels. I've had far too many now for it to be just bad luck.
The trapped dust is inexcusable though.

Initially I though I had a good one, but once in a white home world I could see it right bang in the middle lol

This is my 4th dead pixel hmd so not as many as you. I've had more dead pixel free hmd's than not but i'm having a bad run of luck the last couple of years. I've just ordered another Quest 3 from Very, due on or before the 14th. I had to phone them to get the 20% discount for new customers thingy as it wouldn't work online as technically i'm no longer a new customer but i explained to them i still want the discount as the item i bought is being returned because it's faulty. Really hoping this next Q3 is ok, pretty gutted today after all this.

Don't know about other people, but I would definitely notice them. I make sure to check any display for dead pixels. Just have never seen one on a VR headset.

You and Tyke are just extremely unlucky.
Must be. I have had hmd's without dead pixels so i know it's not me lol!

Only had a quick blast, but initial impressions are very positive. Screen is much better, lenses much better, setup was a breeze

It sucks battery very quickly though, doubt it'll last very long when actually playing games.
