Quest 3 owners etc

Well not that clumsy, don't really play any or the active keep fit games, mainly sitting down stuff.
Still accidents can happen, I never had to claim but its a little security to know that for about £60-70 I am covered for four years for accidents, breakdowns or just going wrong.

Not a fan of claiming on home insurance, bigger premiums in following years, and the insurance excess would eat up any of the pay out, if I ever had to claim.

With VR I would still be more concerned about the accidental damage you might do to your home/other possessions, rather than to the VR device itself.

Are any of you a bit disappointed with the still 128Gb storage of the forthcoming Quest 3, I thought the base model would be 256GB, and I do think Meta are being a bit mean here with not upgrading the storage.

I think that it is all to do with their business model, they probably look at it as if the base model was 256gb then most people would consider that adequate and wouldn't go for the 512gb model, which costs £150 more.

yes, we've all said that in the thread :)

I've joined the "Very BNPL" pre order crew. Went for the big boy to maximise the discount :-) Also managing the storage on my Quest 2 64GB has been a chore and I own a bunch of games that I have never even got around to installing. Hopefully 512GB will be fairly future proof even if the games get bigger.

Yeah, I'm thinking once the operating system and core apps are taken in to account, you'll not have much more than 100gb to play with on the smaller storage.

That could well mean only 3 of the bigger releases installed on the headset at one time, which isn't ideal.

I only had 64gb last time too and I don't want to repeat feeling limited again this time.

I primarily use Quest's for PCVR so I wasnt too fussed on the storage, 128gb will do me fine. :)

That was my thinking when I bought a 64GB Quest 2. However, it wasn't long before I ran out of space for updates and so far I haven't even installed (for example) any of the Star Wars games that I picked up in a sale some time back. As there isn't a 256 Q3 option I'm getting up sold to the 512...

I was in the same boat with the 64Gb Quest 2 and don't want to run into the same storage issues again. We're already seeing games ~25Gb so I can imagine within a couple more years that might become the norm.

As someone who has owned an Oculus Quest since the orignal model released I'd struggle to fit my game library in 128Gb. The extra space will be handy for copying/caching 3D Blu-Ray movies onto as well. Plus I don't have a gaming PC so everything I play in VR is installed on the Quest.

As has been said it's clearly a vey deliberate upselling tactic on Meta's part not releasing a 256Gb model! At least it makes paying an extra £150 for quadruple the storage an easy decision for me to make!

I've never regretted getting the larger capacity Quests despite the larger costs. Being able to install all the games I want plus the ability to add very high quality 3D movies is great. Plus games are getting bigger and Q3 will support much bigger games both in tech specs and storage.

My email still hasn't come through. Mine says processed but still at full price and my £1000 credit still intact.
With Very "Processed" mean's it's being processed, it will change to "Order Placed" once complete and that's when it will be deducted from your credit.

Around 9am on the 29th.
I ordered mine on the 28th so you'll probably get it tomorrow.

Nothing received from Very regarding my Meta Quest 3 512GB order, so just logged in to check my account to find "Sorry, this order has been declined" with no further explanation.

If i wasn't going to the US in January i think i would order one... or i might just order one while im there! Saw Quest 2's were available at places like Best buy and Walmart. With a decent exchange rate i should be able to get one for relatively cheaper.. heres hoping.
