Quest 3 owners etc

Currently very much enjoying Walkabout Mini Golf, I’m sure it’s even better in multiplayer but will get some practice in first.

I don’t keep my Quest 2 long when it was released but definitely going to keep this, just need a better head strap.

Join the OCUK hangout crew. We play Walkabout every Monday evening.

Hey guys, I was about to buy a game but I'm being asked for a 4 digit PIN. I don't recall having one so I tried the "Forgotten your PIN?" link where I'm told I've been sent a link in an email. But I'm not getting any emails and I've tried it a few times. So that's great, I can't buy anything. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Meta so they can sort it out for me?

I found them very helpful when I used the online chat service.

I had the same but I got the email, did the spam filter pick it up? Seems weird to create an account without being asked to set up a pin.

Nope, nothing in the spam folder. However, when I try a random PIN number it says "Incorrect PIN. The PIN that you've entered doesn't match the PIN you created for your Oculus account. Please try again."

So yes, I must have set up a PIN a few years ago when I first made an Oculus account after I bought a Samsung Gear VR headset. And when I installed the Meta Quest app a couple of weeks ago, it found my old Oculus account and transferred it. Looking through my phone's saved memos, I found I saved a note of my Oculus password and email address but no PIN number.

Thanks again for helping me regarding the chat service. I've just had a long online chat with a customer service person at Meta and it's all sorted now! You're right, they're really helpful. The issue with me not receiving emails was, for whatever reason, to do with my virgin media email domain. Meta obviously doesn't like it. We switched my Meta account to my Gmail address and that solved it. So I've now got a new PIN, bought Beat Saber for free with my £23 store credit plus a 25% discount code, and still have £5.76 store credit from an earlier referral. :)

So how do Quest 3 compare to quest 2 in the real world ( any body have both) i have a Q2 and considering a q3 or best just wait for the pico 5 which will likely be here mid next year, and most likely better than the quest 3 but with less game support

I don't know about in the real world, but when it comes to VR images on the Q3 definitely look better than the Q2.

i meant in actual using them, rather than reviews. i suppose really that is all there is to say. its not like any of the quest 2 games were struggling to run, or running slow, so not really much there to improve on.

What about comfort? do they feel much better

Loads of good videos on YouTube about this, I recommend checking them out.

the problem with you tube vidoes, is the dont answer questions, yeah you can get good info. but that is not the same as talking to somebody in the right situation. you may not want to answer, other ( myself included if i do get one) are happy to share their experiences

Have both. The field of view is much better. Think my q2 has good lenses but even then, the pancake lenses clarity is much better. Don't have many games that are upgraded for Q3, but the visuals are better due to the lenses anyway. Mixed reality is amazing for table tennis and the mini game it comes with is a great teaser of what could be.

I've got a skull cap attachment that I took from the q2 and use with the default strap, makes it fine for me. Would be tempted by avr cover facial interface though.

thanks. I noticed on that hacks video above, you an get STL files to convert a Quest2 BobVR strap to fit a Quest3 so that is something. I am tempted, but the price is making it a difficult upgrade. the only game i really play at the moment is Onward (its a first person shooter) I have others but every time i slip the headset on, my pointer moves to onward
