Quest 3 owners etc

Stupid question that has probably has been answered before, but I'm failing to find the answer...

Do you think that the storage capacity on the Quest 3 matters if I'm only interested in PCVR (ie. Steam) or streamed entertainment?

My thoughts would be - no, and that I should go for the base model... however all the "online" advise seems to be that no, you should get the 512 model because "future stuff will need more storage"

Maybe I could've worded it a little more clearly... your current account with the changed name you'd have on both headsets, but on the Q2 you'd create a sub account which your son uses and he would have access to the games you share with him. When he's logged in to his sub account you shouldn't be getting messages on your Q3 from his mates.

Yes, that's the plan but he'll want his username on the Q2 and I don't want it on the Q3. I'm not sure how sub accounts and usernames work though. Waiting for Meta to get back to me first though cheers.

Whilst I'm here, I've noticed that the Quest 3 strains my eyes pretty quickly. Never had this problem on the Quest 2.

I've got the IPD set at max and I can still slightly see the inner parts of both lenses, which seems strange because I ain't no Samuel Jackson. I'll maybe try different IPD values and look at the general settings as well. Brightness is halfway.

Cheers. I don't think that's going to overcome the username issue as I'll still be stuck with the one I don't want and he won't be able to get it with the new account.

You may be able to get a similar username to the one you had, and your son may be able to get a username similar to what he hijacked yours with. You can change usernames every six months.

You should just measure your ipd, and set it to that.

I've already said that he changed my username about two months ago and that I won't be able to do another change for a while, unless Meta help me out. They still haven't replied. If they don't help then I'll set him up with a similar username and will just have to wait to change mine.

I've felt that the q3 feels like ever so slightly double vision as well. Changing IPD doesn't seem to help much.

I've never got motion sickness from the Q2 or Q3 but the latter was definitely straining my eyes. I did have the IPD at max but after using that app linked to a few posts back it seems my IPD is 66/67 so after setting the Q3 to 66 I've just done an hour of dog fighting and my eyes feel fine. Nice and happy now!

I've just purchased a Quest 3 (arrives Friday). My last VR experience was PS VR on the PlayStation which was okay. I have a couple of questions hopefully someone can help with;
  1. My son has a Rift S. Do referrals from Rift to Quest work? Or does it have to be another Quest user that "refers" me for us both to get the referral reward?
  2. With the PS VR, you cast to the TV via the PlayStation. I know the Quest can cast to the TV but how does that work? Do you need a dongle for the TV? Cable? An app on your TV?
Looking forward to using it. Some of the Augmented reality stuff looks neat.
