Quest 3 preview

I might pre order one

We know it's going to be better than the Quest 2 and Pico 4

I'd like to go back to the quest before I start buying stuff native

I current have games on oculous and steam

Some don't work properly/not at all, consists of :

Asgard wrath
Township Tale
bow and arrow game i cant remember the name
Demeo (all though this works fine on the pico)
Etc

Battery life is bad, I get approx 1.5 hours then it disables OTG , so no headphones, limited activity etc

And a few other things I'm not keen on

At least I'll get 14 days to try it out

Rumours are some other big games will be announced at launch. And there's rumours Valve are itching to spoil the Quest 3 launch the same way the spoiled the Rift S one!

yeah, apparently Valve did it on the meta connect (Quest 2 launch) and they are going to do it again

i hope we see what valve are up to (especially the price) if they say 1K+ or something, ill get a quest 3

Definitely keeping an eye on this, sold my Q2 to fund PSVR2 and wish I’d kept it.

I bought a psvr2 thinking I wouldn’t touch my Quest 2 again but surprisingly it’s my PSVR2, headset that’s been sitting in my cupboard unused. So few games coming out for it, virtually no exclusives and not even PC ports like half life Alyx, fallout 4, etc that I’d anticipated.

There are quite a few psvr2 on the Bay at the moment ...i like mine but updates are few and far between and i would like some sort of browser in the future

Hey guys, I just went into Selfridges in Oxford Street looking for a demo of the Meta Quest or Meta Quest 2 just to get an idea of what current VR looks like as I'm probably going to buy the Meta Quest 3. He was able to let me try the Pico. I was really pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it is wearing my glasses and that was without their extender to separate glasses and lens further. I reckon I could wear the Pico for some time and may not need to buy prescription lens. The head strap has a rotating wheel which easily loosens and tightens so it felt very solid, and that was apparently just the default strap. The padding is deep and soft. My question is, will the Meta Quest 3 likely be as comfortable/feel as good as the Pico without aftermarket bits and bobs?

You may need to buy an aftermarket strap for it. But you can ask Shi as to how many issues he's had with the software etc, and why he's coming back to the quest lineups.

So spec wise it's caught up to the Pico 4?
does the pico 4 have the new processor in that the Q3 has? i thought it was the same one as in the quest 2, weaker than the quest pro even.

where meta shines imo is the software however..... that said i am not knocking the pico headsets, they offer a lot of kit for your money.
also what is the passthrough like in the pico4 as the quest 3 sounds like it is really trying for a proper mixed reality headset, something the quest pro claimed it could do but couldnt really.

The pico 5 may give it a run for its money.... hardly surprising however as if the rumoured controllers are anything to go by, they have pretty much ripped it off. (which is fine with me............ i have no love of meta as a company so if they can take the best bits of the meta design and sell it in a pico 5 then good luck to them)

(but anyone who wants to champion pico as being better than meta headsets............. this may or may not be true but without meta doing the legwork i do not believe the pico ones would exist.

i dont have any "native" games or apps on my pico, i run everything via virtual desktop (using PC VR) but its had teething problems, and to be honest i can do walkabout mini golf no problem and demeo etc without issues

the software isnt as good as metas is, but its ok
