Is this some kind of retail collab between the purple place and the rain forest?

All I've done is shown a price that it "could" be, nothing is confirmed yet.

I'm not mentioning or linking to any competitors to keep whithin the rules

The price shown is a guidance only

The price has been confirmed for ages. It has been up on the Meta site for the last month.

The main issue will be that in addition to ~£500 for the headset I’ll probably need to pony up another ~£150 for an upgraded head strap and some prescription lenses!

That’s what’s making me consider whether to hit the preorder button as it’ll be more like £700 all in for it. Plus I’m unlikely to get much more than £150 for selling my quest 2!

I've found adding a cheap rubber type skull cap on the back of my original quest 2 strap, covered in some old foam and a universal battery pack holder has worked fantastically. Very comfortable and cheap.

While most headsets need accessories to be usable, facial interfaces, cables and headphones. Just think how much value/use/fun you've had and can still have out of your Quest 2. Like graphics card purchases, I'll probably miss this round out and get a more meaningful upgrade in a year.

I see it as now me and the wife can play games together

I considered selling my quest 2 when I got my quest pro (indeed it was my man maths of selling my reverb G2 and quest 2 which persuaded me to upgrade).
however on realising how little a 64 GB quest 2 is worth I instead gave it to my lad. he is only 7.5 but he loves beat saber and also playing walkabout mini golf with me. obviously if you don't have a kid or partner who is interested this is not an option. you only have 1 head so no need for 2 vr devices of the same class

about the quest 3 add-ons. does anyone know if it will be compatible with quest pro stuff? I know the controllers will be but I am thinking about the charging plate, whether the Q3 one will be the same as the quest pro one

Or the 512Gb model with addons will take you past £1000. For that money you can have the 256Gb pro model with superior controllers and other things superior?????

Worse processor though. Have to say, until I see what the reviews are on the q3, I'm not sure if I'd rather the q3 vs a pro. For now, I'm just sitting on the 2 though.

I can't work out whether he's saying it's a single screen or that there'll be a single screen for each eye...

Me neither, He says briefly that it's single screen. Then straight after he says the screens are square and with the IPD adjustment you can move them. That takes away the limit for people with High IPD.

So not sure what he is saying.
