Sadly and IME yes..

OK for very casual use, but it was the first thing I ditched on the quest 2 for an Elite strap with battery..

But there are many really excellent 3rd party straps that no doubt will come to the Quest 3, so unless (like me) you are a sucker for OEM stuff that is a bit overpriced, I wouldn't bother with the Elite Strap.

They are all poor VFM.

I know I've pre-ordered the Elite Battery Strap, and like the Elite Battery Strap on my Quest 2, I know there are better third party straps with batteries for less..

That orange fabric facial interface looks really nice. I haven't pre ordered yet to see if it costs extra but I'm sure it would be.

£49.99 for the coloured extras, doesn't seem to be an option of buying a quest 3 with the colour rather than the default black.

I've just ordered a 128GB Q3 and the Elite strap with battery, 95% of my VR time is spent playing PCVR via air link, I just can't justify the additional funds for the 512GB version when I'm unlikely to ever need it.
 
This is a good honest review. He likes it and talks about all the things that are great and also little niggles with it.

Rain forest has a £479.99 pre-order button now and says buyers will actually receive it on release day, Tuesday 10th. Also includes Asgard's Wrath 2. Also has the 512gb version pre order, £619.99

Kind of feeling it would make more sense to wait until after launch to order as I'd like to see what 3rd party straps are available since the OEM ones are so expensive and not great quality given my experience of the Quest 2 one. Plus I'll need prescription lens inserts which also likely wont be avilalable until November anyway as wearing glasses in any VR headset is horrible.

I've included Prescription lens, they should be coming October
 
Hmmm... now I need to try and work out what my 128GB Q2 with Battery Elite Strap, Kiwi Grips, Official Link Cable and Case is worth so I can sell it :D

i've barely used mine too, but there are the odd occasions as you say airlink is very good. :)
 
Good to see Meta offering up prescription lense inserts themselves and at a very reasonable price.

Will wait for you lot to beta test but looking like this could be my next headset for sim racing :p :D

Pre ordered the 512, not liking the look of that strap it looks too similar to the Q2 one which was hot garbage. Hope a Kiwi one comes out before the 10th!
