Why it wouldn't have been if it had been anyone else. Think I will think twice before posting any problems with my cars now.
Exactly, some of the responses in here are hilarious, it's as though threads like this haven't existed before when in actual fact this forum is nearly half full of them.

Very sad this whole thread

Don't agree with a fair few things that Fox says tbh, but that is where debating skills should come in. Not this crap....

Think it shows the OP in the worst light & says more about him than anyone else.

Seems this forum is getting more & more like this unfortunately.

How dare he ask for advice on a BMW forum just because he drives one? He is clearly obliged to report every fault that he finds here first.

I am still struggling to see what this thread is proving really. As most of the work is being done under warranty it isn't really a big deal.

My only question is this? Were these problems there when he bought the car or did they come on straight after? If it was the earlier I don't think I would have taken on an expensive car like that with possible problems. However my opinion is not relevant really.

We can also see the logic behind changing the tyres now which at the time seemed bizare.

what would fall under a reasonable loss in power though?
engines lose a little power with mileage as obviously some of the internals wear.
I thought some engines loosened-up and developed more bhp with mileage?

I detect a touch of envy going on from certain posters.

Ok, Fox has a problem with his "new" BMW, after 140k is that such a surprise?
Hardly I'd have thought.

The lad had the good sence to buy a car with a BMW warranty so, the major issues will get fixed under warranty.

I'd hazzard a guess that he asked the questions at BMWland simply because its a dedicated BMW forum where he's FAR more likely to get accurate advice from people with similar cars & experience.

Had he posted it here, he'd have been "PWNED" etc to death and probably got no further in his quest for answers.

Good on him.

If Fox, myself or any others are getting to the point where they really are starting to annoy / **** you off, theres always the option of placing the offending posters on your ignore list isn't there? ;)

Hope you sort it Fox.

many do.
but once the internal parts have worn together to compliment each other it's a slow downward spiral.
once you've got to 100k miles you're gonna be down on power, how much power is down to how good the engineering of the engine was in the first place.

I knew of all his problems as I frequent BMWland, but I have better things to do and think about than report it here.

I didn't close this earlier because I wanted Fox to be able to reply to the pathetic OP. He can stand on his own two feet and does a good job of it ;)

Fox 1 - all the little trolls 0, nada, null point, zilch.
