R.I.P DannyW

2 minutes from my house. Remember going to work thinking what's going on. Road was closed for about 12 hours. :( Spoken to him a few times. RIP.

Just as an update I’m going to Danny’s funeral next week and along with a bouquet I’ll be taking a card, I’ll add some of the thoughtful comments from here in it and it can be collectively from the community not just myself.
Nice one Tom, he ruffled more than a few feathers here (mine included) but walked the walk unlike many...

I’ll freely concede I took him for a fool, I was wrong. He was quite something, as ever, you don’t appreciate somebody or something until it’s gone.

It looks like a low loader so not high up like a normal artic, was the lorry turning across the road or something?

God knows what went through his mind in those last few seconds.

Look like the lorry was pulling out of the plant hire place, pulling into the other side of the ring road. would have been dark so not sure he saw the side of the lorry and went under :(

I think you might be correct and the truck he hit is actually in the hire place on the google street view, if the truck driver was at fault i hope he gets whats coming to him, what a tragic loss of life for what seems like very limited reason.

Bloody hell, the state of the car under the rear of that loader :(

Not saying its anything to do with speeding but it's 40mph and poorly lit road. You can drive quick when it's quite on that road and a lot of people race on it. I think he just didn't see it sticking out :(

It would have been pretty light at 6am wouldn't it? I've just seen the picture. No matter what the circumstances are, nobody deserves to go like that. Absolutely horrific :(

Just saw the picture. That is shocking to see. Poor lad. An unfortunate collision that seems to have bypassed most of the impact zones due to the height of the truck.

Much too young. I remember reading his thread about buying a home with his girlfriend. RIP.

I'm puzzled how this happened though. Given it was the rear end he went under, I would have thought the lorry was well into whatever maneuver it was doing? E.g. it doesn't seem like it suddenly swung out in front of him.

It appears the truck has pulled out the hire place, across the road and stopped in the mid section of the road with the back end of his truck stuck out waiting to turn right, he shouldn't have done this and instead should have driven 1km down the road to the roundabout.

Very sad news, recognise him well from motors. RIP and thoughts are with GF and family.

I didn't know him very well, but remember his posts from a good few years back when I posted in motors. I posted about a Ford Focus I was interested in as a first car and he snatched it for himself that same day lol. I think we both only wanted it as it had PWN in the number plate..

RIP :(
