R.I.P Dog

Thanks for the messages spoffle, just what I needed right now. I had 2 choices, to keep her alive on a drip and heavy medication for 48 hours, for the extremely slim chance of her survival, even though if she did survive, she would have had no quality of life and been in extreme pain until she did pass on, not to mention the high chance of paralysis due to massive brain damage, or don't let her suffer any more.

So yeah, even though it was hard, and I really wanted to take that extremely slim chance of her being able to live for a few weeks longer, I know I did the right thing.

Hell I don't even know why I'm explaining myself to you.

No I don't. Not showing empathy and lacking empathy aren't the same thing.

OK, so if your pets in pain, you decide not to put it down, its pain increases and it gets two days additonal life and then dies of its own accord. you then post on here stating how sad you are, if I reply stating that you're a nasty fu*k for putting your pet through that - does that help you or the situation? No it doesn't.

Urgh this is awful and I'm truly sorry for your loss :(
I currently have 2 dogs (these are my first) and I can't imagine life without them.
You were a good person for rescuing him and giving him a great little life :D

Awww :(

Had the same thing happen to me last christmas. She was 4, had kidney failure.

Sorry for your loss, heartbreaking.

Looks like a great pooch.

Really sorry mate. :( I absolutely dread the day I have to make the same decision for my dog. She's 16 now.

I guarantee you I won't.

I don't know what you have deleted, but I guarantee if you continue your attitude face to face, rather than just from behind the computer, someone will force you into a situation where you will have to stand and bang, and you strike me as the kind of 14 year old internet libertarian sperg lord who would not stand for very long.

Change your attitude, its not cool, its not hard and its not clever.

Thanks guys. Still can't get over the image of her lying on the table dead:(

Going to haunt me for a while that.

It will get better mate, I am sorry you had to go through that, remember the good times and how happy im sure her life was with you, grief is an entirely natural and common process, it is also incredibly unpleasent.

Thanks mate. It is the most unpleasant thing I have ever been through.

Trying to think of all the good times (there were many) but my head keeps dragging me back to that image of when she looked up at me on the table before she went.

Safe to say, it was painless and just like going to sleep for her physically, its a horrible experience but you will begin to feel better with time
