Q: I just bought the ATI Radeon HD 2900XT and 3DMark06 freezes during the splash-screen. What is wrong and how can I fix this?
A: This is a known issue and we have been able to reproduce it in our test lab. The problem lays in an DLL which we use to detect the graphics cards' core and memory speeds. We are working on an update to correct this issue after which all Futuremark benchmarks should run fine with the latest offerings from all IHV's. Until then you can work around this issue either by renaming the "Direcpll.dll" file (found in %WINDIR%\system32\Futuremark\MSC\) to something else, or you can run the benchmark using the -nosysteminfo command line. Please note that if you use the -nosysteminfo command line, you will not be able to publish the result online. Futuremark will inform all its users when the update is available!

That score seems more than a little low.....
People with a oced (3.2ghz) e6600 got at least 10900 with the first drivers on the cd. And then 11200 with the drivers off the ati site>.>

Dont think there is anything wrong with that score as he is running his 6600 at 2.4 ghz. Posted up my score with the CPU at 3.4ghz with the RC7 drivers, they are no different to the previouse ones and not worth the install IMO.

stock e6600 though which is 0.8ghz slower than the oc'ed ones you're talking about and considering a fair few 3dmarks are gained from the cpu that seems about right.

Could anyone tell me whether the min fps in COH has gone up, because in the xbit review it was nearly on par with a gtx apart from the fact its min fps was 13 at all resolutions .

you are correct, the new anniversary one is just a remake of the first original game, and as you can see from the gfx a old skool gf4 could do that with no problems.

but then again, its probably the best recent game to use to show minimal AA hit on the x2900xt cards.
