R9 290X Owners Thread

Des are you running in exclusive full screen mode, because Crossfire does not work in Windowed/Borderless mode unless you're using the Mantle API.

Guys. I rebuilt the machine last night with windows 8.1
I downloaded and had a quick bash at FarCry 4 this morning before going to work. Was much smoother than before but I don't know what fps as I don't have afterburner set up yet to display it.
I've set it to download all my other games today so I'll report back tonight. One thing I have noticed already is that the highest the temps got to was 84 degrees on one of the cards so that's a massive improvement already in that respect.

Good news. Get that fan replaced that you mentioned.

You're welcome to try the cards out in my case if you want to see how they would run? With my quick disconnects, it doesn't take long to swap over.

Anyone know of a cooler the same as the Double Dissipation Edition that XFX have on some of their cards?
The other aftermarket coolers are to long for my case.

MSI Gaming 290x is shorter then the XFX I think.

Sorry should have said. I've already got this great card from Matt. I'm looking for a cooler but XFX won't sell me one :(

Got a Rev. 2 ICY VISION (GC-VGA02-01) coming just in case we get a HOT summer :)

Done anymore testing yet mate?

Very nice! Tidy too. Are they reference cards with blocks added?

Yes the normal reference cards I have had since launch day.:)

If anyone watercools them it is important to remember to have the bios switch set to uber as with the bridge I am using above it covers the switches.:)
