R9 Nano Review thread

So what's this awesome mITX case everyone's talking about that will fit a Nano but won't fit a FuryX or 980Ti?

Assuming you can CF them (not checked) then a pair in something like a Corsair 240 air would be a pretty neat setup better leaving the front for a radiator/better airflow or something (and a lot easier to work around putting it all together).

EDIT: As others have said though at that price I'd want a 980ti even if it meant having to put up with a bit more physical space used.

Surly that is not your argument for the Titan-X being reasonably priced, is it?

I am not making an argument for the Titan-X being rasonably priced but the Nano at the price it is does make the Titan-X look a lot more attractive.

The Nano for what it is should be retailing at a lower price than the Fury.

Andy is on a mission to cut the Nano down before it has a chance just like DP during the FX launch.

Nobody wants to hear you recite the same 3 posts again and again. It's obnoxious.

All I know is my AMD cards are single slot and take up less space than the Nano and will thrash the Nano quite easy on performance.:D

Looks like a great card to me but even the most fanatical AMD fan cant deny the price is ludicrous, the lack of HDMI 2.0 is a massive fail due to a large part of its intended market and there could be heat issues in a tiny case.

Its like 2 steps forward and 1 step back for AMD, again.

Can't we all just get along, be friends?.................

I wish there were a game that we could all play and bring us together regards of our GPUS... Ocuk should sort out a massive LAN Party for it's Forum members, that way, we get to meet each other, share a brew etc, some gaming, honestly think it would be a good laugh.

the alternative is... an endless battle of words on theses forums.... it's boring and ******* crap.

Well the Guru review was pretty stellar, don't intend to go through them all, but I think someone should make a review using the lowest throttle setting (800mhz is it?) to show worst case scenario results.

Would be interesting to get the ASIC results can compare them with fury-x results to see if they have used ASIC binning and what range those ASICs are in.

I do wonder if the FURY X2 will use this kind of tech and power implementation for a 2x8pin power requirement, I think I could just get away with quadfire on a 850 PSU if nothing was overclocked. That's insane. And you could cool it with 2 or even 3 fans. Anyone know if they are using this approach with the X2? If they are still making it obviously.

But you forget brand E-PEEN,which means some need to keep justifying their purchases again and again and again...

There used to be a time when people would discuss technical aspects of reviews in forums, but not anymore.

It's almost like some teenage console converts going 'hey bra my PC its better your loser one" and then the other one going "don't diss my PC bro, gonna have to take this outside the playground..."

Yet while they are bickering, someone on a console is actually spending more time actually playing games instead of antagonistic bragging rights.

The only problem is the the timescale. If 14nm/16nm cards are out next year,AMD only had a narrow window of opportunity to launch the Fury X2.

I think they should be concentrating on trying to get to14nm/16nm first before Nvidia for at least their volume cards.

Because I'm the only person pointing out that at the same price and in the same SFF case you can put a 980ti that is then much faster?
Some of us have asked where we can buy a case that can fit the Nano but not a ti but no one seems to want to answer

How can I have any affect on sales of this card? That's just ridiculous. If people want to discuss the technical aspects of this product I am quite happy to, but no one wants to answer any straight questions and then they whinge about epeen or "cutting down" a product.

I'm not doing anything that can affect sales. The only thing I am doing is stating an opinion on WHY its not selling, which funnily enough is directly related to its technical aspects.

As much as I would love to think that my posts are so important that I can control the sales of new products, it doesn't seem very likely.

I have even said that a Fury or FuryX is a better buy than the nano, so its not even about brand preference, I just cant really see, other than making a case very specifically for the nano, why anyone would buy a nano... And that view point seems to be being backed up by sales.

I'm not really surprised that, being unable to discuss the technical aspects, that the usual suspects would try to undermine the messengers instead of actually discussing the message.

Great card, in a league of its own. Funny to see titan owners bash the PRICE of this card LMFAO... "but if you want the best you have to pay for it!". Yet that argument doesn't work when the shoe is on the other foot eh? Nice one guys... nice one...

I agree its too expensive for what it is for the average consumer, should have been around Fury Pro price.

Is this the most pointless waterblock ever ?

For the same money as the Nano you can buy a Fury X and put a block on that. The advantage being you get a lot more performance with the Fury X.

Isn't the fury also the same PCB?
And that has the extra power connector

The Fury X PCB is a tiny bit longer with 2x8pin power connectors on top.

Another problem people could get with the Nano is the length of power leads from their PSU as it was a hell of a job getting mine to stretch on my Fury Xs. This could be the reason that the Nano has the power connector at the end of the PCB.

Just watched Linus' (well, Luke's) review of the Nano, definitely a unique card. I love the aesthetics of it, but since I don't plan on going i/mATX it's of no use to me.

The price is... A bit high, too.
