Rachel Riley - political commentator.

Thing is, I don't know how you can read her tweet as anything but a suggestion Corbyn is a nazi. So seems an odd decision.

Eh?

Her tweet was in direct response to someone claiming that being egged is in and of itself proof that the person being egged is a nazi. The usual victim-blaming that's such a core part of the ideology of authoritarianism and irrational prejudices that's called "progressive" by its followers. Her tweet was (very obviously in my opinion) rebutting that opinion by referring to a person who was egged and who "progressives" would not consider a nazi.

Except that Owen Jones original tweet was about BNP leader Nick Griffin (Whose politics wasn't far off nazi ideology), and that clearly wasn't what his statement meant unless you can only take everything literally?

Nick Griffin was moaning about being egged, Owen Jones was basically saying 'try not being a racist and it wouldn't have happened'

"Rachel Riley tweets that Corbyn deserves to be violently attacked because he is a Nazi." - Thats not given as an opinion though, thats said as a statement of fact which is why Riley won her case. So if you don't falsely libel someone you'll be safe on Twitter.

So what you're saying is that if she'd said "Rachel Riley tweets implied that Corbyn deserves to be violently attacked because he is a Nazi" she would be fine ?

You see, when you come to a situation with a heavy ideological bias, you fail to get a fair read on what's going on.

Her "direct response" was months after the Owen Jones tweet she was quoting and was, coincidentally, mere hours after Corbyn had been egged during a mosque visit.

Would you care to reassess?

Indeed you do. Sometimes so much so you can somehow bizarrely misinterpret simple statements. I guess when your ideological bias is strong enough to include the belief that everyone who isn't wholly obedient to the ideology is a heretic counter-revolutionary aristocrat enemy of the people nazi, you lose the ability to understand any other position.

Yes, it was a direct response to the tweet she was quoting. That's what quoting is for in this context. And it wasn't coincidental, obviously. The whole point was that a person who "progressives" did not consider a nazi had been egged. Your objection to the timing makes no sense unless you believe Rachel Riley was using time travel. Not even then, really, because even if they could travel backwards in time from after Corbyn was egged until whatever arbitrary length of time you consider acceptable for a reply to a tweet to be a reply to a tweet (and how would they know what limit you imposed and why would they obey you anyway?) her reply wouldn't have made any sense before Corbyn was egged.

Would you care to reassess?

No. I still don't believe Rachel Riley was using time travel. I see no evidence that they did.

rachel riley is slowly turning into carrol vorderman.
her looks are fading and her "assets" are on display more and more it seems

seems pathetic especially the photo of the dress with the belt bit right under her boobs so that's all you notice.

looks like someone who should be a barmaid or walking the streets at night

Also, this thread is ******* terrible. Glad I didn't get involved with it first time around.

I’ve given up reporting misogynistic and racist posts which are clearly contrary to the rules because nothing is ever done about it. This was after getting suspended for calling a spade a spade in the case of one poster.

Isn't that was she was doing before countdown
no idea... this is the pic I'm talking about btw...

drawn a black line where like a belt or whatever would usually be surely

not sure if trying to make legs look longer or make sure the only thing you notice is her boobs.

I thought she was known for her IQ I bet in reality her and carol are dumb as a brick and someone was telling them in an earpeice the answers

But Owen says if you don't want eggs thrown at you don't be a nazi.

So if corbyn got anegg thrown at him he must have been a nazi

Ignoring all the weird ****ed up incell misogynistic crap above the last paragraph Carol's got a degree in engineering from Cambridge so hardly brick dumb (betting you've not got the same?) For playing a game my high-school maths teacher would play without needing help

Neither Carol or Rachel are dumb, i'm not saying they are. Just they should keep out of political stuff and stick to what they are good at.

How can you post the crap you did and then claim that mathematics is not politics?
I mean, come on

How

I meant maths as in countdown, you can interpret their maths knowledge in whatever way you like. I must have missed the politics in countdown. I just saw them using maths to work out a mathematical problem.

So presumably you never comment on politics because its not been your job?

Wait my job is in engineering am I not allowed to comment on politics either?

Oh wait you mean thier job as public representatives and "personalities" where they are paid to give their opinion?

Why should they keep out the political stuff? Why is their opinion any less valuable than anyone else's?

I've had a look at some of your posts and for someone that claims to have had a "bad time as a kid" you do have some extremely shizzy opinions and you'd think someone with your experience would know better as an adult.

It's decorative, not a belt. Since it isn't a belt, in terms of functionality it doesn't matter where it goes.

not sure if trying to make legs look longer or make sure the only thing you notice is her boobs.

Maybe either. Or both. Why care? Or maybe it is functional and improves her comfort by supporting her boobs in a more comfortable way than a more supportive bra. Why care?

Neither Carol or Rachel are dumb, i'm not saying they are. Just they should keep out of political stuff and stick to what they are good at.

Why? They're at least as good at political commentary as most of the people who do it. Which is a very low bar to clear.

I'd disagree, not having read any of his posts before this, people who have had a bad time as kids in my experience tend to become not black and white in tier thinking but certain in it.

A level of conviction right or wrong simple or convoluted that isn't usual.
