Some could say we have an ignorant view on racism because as "white people", we don't have to deal with any racism towards us.

One thing that REALLY annoys me, is when some random on the street goes "Ni Hao" (meaning hi/how are you). No, don't automatically assume I'm Chinese. No, don't assume I know Mandarin. No, don't assume it's funny or polite.

A Korean friend of mine has a funny tshirt that says "No I am not Chinese". 
Also isn't 你好 said the same in both Cantonese and Mandarin? (I am rudely assuming you speak at least some form of Chinese)

I think it's far too easy to underestimate the hurt which racism does to people, and you'd think in the fairly tolerant society we have today, something so minor would not matter any more.
