Racism

And calling a Pakistani a **** is no different from call myself a Scot, I just shorter terminology, There's not a hint of rascim in it IMO.

Except there is, it's a commonly used word that is mostly used to cause offence.

It's no longer just a shortened version of the word.

People need to harden the **** up.

White/Black/Asian, People shouldn't care what you colour of skin you have.

Being told i'm a white bit of trash a Jock, Haggis Muncher, doesn't faze me the slightest.

Us Manly Skirt Wearing Folks up here in sheep territory tend to find insults toward us funny, thats our attitude towards it.

You're forgetting the racist connotation to it which has been used for years by racist people. Whereas scot is exclusively an abbreviation.

No, as it's a description of something in the right circumstances not just saying it for the sake of it.
Who gets called a racist for answering a question like 'what is their skin colour'? It's not racist to say their skin colour is black.

Well I don't think it is, others may think that.

In that case one may aswell omit the fact the mugger was a male!

lol where do you live? I'll avoid.

Dover lol

Lesson 1 - Keep mouth closed lol
Lesson 2 - if you live in a racist town, keep mouth closed

Yeah I know that one now :D

Would you have had a go at him if he used a more respectable word?

To be honest the thing I said about him was a passing comment. I just ignore mindless comments like that usually. My beef was that the town page liked his comment.

What?

No, because your describing something where it's needed. In a case of a mugging or a crime scene appearence can be described sensibly.

There is a time and place to start mouthing off colours/features/appearance e.t.c. Certain times it's needed and other times is just silly to go saying things, which is just wrong. Especially where the racist card is met.

Best thing to do is don't open ones mouth, which has already been mentioned a few times.

Sorry, but if I were mugged I'd dish over as much info as possible.

I'm brown. To me that is a very offensive word and has been used offensively towards me on quite a few different occasions.

It is not the same as calling someone who is Scottish a scot, not at all.

OMG?

It is important but it's where/when it's used professionally and properly.

And the case in point is (and I'll put this in capitals as you seem to have trouble seeing it)

...WHEN BEING INTERVIEWED BY THE POLICE FOLLOWING YOU BEING MUGGED BY A BLACK PERSON...

so in this context, it's perfectly acceptable. In others it wouldn't be, but as we are not talking about those, they're irrelevant for this conversation.
