Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

Am i the only one who doesn't care what a GPU looks like or what materials it's constructed of providing the performance is good?

I've never understood why people don't like or won't buy some cards if it's "ugly"

I see my graphics cards three times.... When i'm installing it... When i'm cleaning my PC for dust... When i'm uninstalling it... Even if you've got a windowed case, it's only the side of it that gets shown... Seriously, it could have a picture of a **** on it and be made out of bamboo, providing when it's reviewed by respected sites they tell me it's fast, durable and they recommend it as a buy then that's it.

You are in a minority - I like a GPU to look reasonably good - even though I won't be looking at it much - though I do usually use windowed cases with the case beside my desk in plain view.

But even then it's the side of the GPU that's on view - which typically all look the same?

Maybe it's because i grew up buying my first Voodoo card and it just being a plain PCB - but the design really has zero baring on whether i buy or not.

As it happens both the GPUs I have in there at the moment look fairly interesting from the side - using the slightly more "special" version of the windforce coolers.

This is the 1080's heatsink for those saying the Rx480 heatsink looks cheap and nasty. The nvidia one looks no better. Jsut a bog standard heatsink, if anything the nvidia one looks smaller.
