You are in a minority - I like a GPU to look reasonably good - even though I won't be looking at it much - though I do usually use windowed cases with the case beside my desk in plain view.
Dude Nvidia does not care - we're talking about company that willing dumped faulty chips on the market to around the tune of 30+ million dollars - which ended up costing the industry; their partners several billion dollars - some estimate 30 billion dollars......this was bumpgate. Do you think they've changed? No - look at 970 memory - we don't care we lied to you; we're not apologizing as its a new feature.........
Seriously Nvidia really is shady as it gets when it comes to business practices. This is coming from personal experience as I've had to work with them; each time - left even more bitter taste in my mouth; (also dealing with several hundred laptops all failing at the same time with nvidia chips cost company I was tens of thousands of dollars and IT manager's job)
Nvidia does make some great hardware - but their business practices....no god no....they don't care who they hurt or **** off; can see that in the mobile industry; console; etc...
AMD Radeon RX 480 supports DVI
Some people were worried that RX 480 may not support DVI. Well the good news is that AMD confirmed DVI support for Polaris 10. The DVI port was simply not installed on reference model, but proper connections are available on the circuit board. So it’s totally up to add-in-board partners to decide if they want to offer DVI-capable RX cards.
Good news for all those still on DVI
Am i the only one who doesn't care what a GPU looks like or what materials it's constructed of providing the performance is good?
I've never understood why people don't like or won't buy some cards if it's "ugly"
I see my graphics cards three times.... When i'm installing it... When i'm cleaning my PC for dust... When i'm uninstalling it... Even if you've got a windowed case, it's only the side of it that gets shown... Seriously, it could have a picture of a **** on it and be made out of bamboo, providing when it's reviewed by respected sites they tell me it's fast, durable and they recommend it as a buy then that's it.
I'm probably gonna go for an 8GB reference card, so long as they can hit 1350Mhz or so with reasonable temps and noise. An extra 150Mhz would be nice, but an extra 5-10% performance for 25% more or so in cost just doesn't seem worth it to me.I can't see what the ref looks like making a difference though tbh, as everyone will no doubt go for the custom ones.
Really itching to see the reviews and benchmarks to see if it's worth replacing one of my 390s or if I'm better off with a 470 to replace the 6950 in my bedroom pc.
Tempting, but the sensible choice is to get the 480 and let the 390 it displaces replace the 6950.
Or I could get a 470 to do that and run dual 390s in PC number 2.
Well you wouldn't put one of these in yer PC would you
I think LoadsaMoney is just taking the #### by making silly comments.
I'm hoping the OC is true just so that NVIDIA have to lower Pascal prices so I can get a 1080 for a more reasonable price... I dunno if that makes me a fanboy but hey, I'm rooting for AMD too
Yup, I thought trolling wasn't allowed anymore?
I just said it looks cheap and nasty, thats my opinion.
I guess all those saying that clown 1080 was gash are trolling as well.
Get out, now.
