Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

hmm get two of these or a 1080 (will a 650w bronze PSU suffice for two 480s?)

Can anyone comment how crossfire is these days, I remember it having barely any support and horrible micro-stutter.

If price gouging isn't as prevalent as Nvidias offerings.. AMD will get my money that's for sure (haven't had an AMD GPU since 6850 crossfire)

Am i the only one who doesn't care what a GPU looks like or what materials it's constructed of providing the performance is good?

I've never understood why people don't like or won't buy some cards if it's "ugly"

I see my graphics cards three times.... When i'm installing it... When i'm cleaning my PC for dust... When i'm uninstalling it... Even if you've got a windowed case, it's only the side of it that gets shown... Seriously, it could have a picture of a **** on it and be made out of bamboo, providing when it's reviewed by respected sites they tell me it's fast, durable and they recommend it as a buy then that's it.

Fwiw my card will stand fully upright.

It's probably part of the reason why the FE has actually turned out to be one of the cheaper models of 1070, versus the 1080 FE being one of the more expensive options for that card.

Lookup Sapphire Vapor-x, they have been offering vapour chamber based solutions for a while at reasonable prices.

I used to own a 290X Vapor-X. :D

The Vapor-X has always been their premium model though, positioned above the Tri-X/Toxic editions in terms of price. "Cheap" is relative, but it obviously costs more to include a vapour chamber than not. The 1080 and 1070 just happen to be overpriced across the board.

Would you rather it be £350 and have a better looking lump of alloy inside the GPU where you can't even see it?

I don't see your point.

Well you wouldn't put one of these in yer PC would you :p

Hmmm Sapphire Vapor-X 480 would be decent or an MSI Lightning one, doubt we will see an MSI Lighting edititon, but then again if its a massive seller they could end up doing one

Or an AIO one would be decent, never thought i would say that after the FuryX

well if it does overclock to buggery then there might be one at some point.

That's why I always stick everything up as BIN and requiring instant payment these days. Not worth the hassle of dealing with timewasters who buy things just to secure them, then either change their mind or get a better deal elsewhere and don't pay.

If your forced to use eBay this is absolutely the best way to sell, just get an average price of the last few that SOLD for your BIN price.

Before anyone says MM you almost have to pay buyers to take it off your hands!!!!
