Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

$199 for the 4GB $250+ for the 8gb so £500 to match a 1080? Surely thats incredibly vulnerable to certain games and crossfire? The 1080 is £550 and 1% faster you can pre order for £550. But you would never be looking at certain games with half frame rates either?

I do not see the appeal here for a 480 or a 22k Firestrike 1080. :rolleyes:
 
How long do we normally have to wait for the souped-up, non-reference variants of new cards? I'd like this thing before Mankind Divided.

You are missing all the hype. The point is not two 480s but just one $299 card which might overclock it's nuts off and when overclocked matches a stock 1080 for $400 less.

Who needs to worry about two of them or xfire then. Just enjoy 80% of a an over locked 1080 performance for less that half the money.
