Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

Just got offered a 980 for £180, either way it's win win for anyone looking to buy a GPU. Holding on for AMD Rx 480

If it was not for dx12 that really would be tempting. The gtx980 overclocks really well but there is a 480 4gb that should be inline or close to that price so no sale for me. I still rate my 290 as a card that will be on par with the gtx980 in dx12.

Honestly I feel like with all the leaks we've had so far, they seem very 'controlled', despite what people say about AMD being angry :o

So I'd make a guess that we'll see benchmarks when AMD want us to see, whether that's on the 29th or next week :p

that makes me think of kyle at hardOCP, and his article about polaris, the contrast between what he said and the leaks is intriguing, him saying that polaris perform much worse thanexpected and doesnt overclock, and leaks with around 50% overclock and 980 perf, which seem more and more credible, even sapphire practically confirmed 1.5k+.
a year ago AMD stock were at 2$ now they are at 6$, probably will go up to 10 or 12 if the product is good, that is still a lot of money for someone who invested a significant amount to be tempted to play the stock troll.
starting to think that some parties worked together to blurr the radar for nvidia and the public, and that indeed AMD got a great product on their hands.
