Ramadan Mubarak

Hi guys,

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but afaik halal nandos/kfc are not halal. they stun their chickens, and use electric blades. The muslim organisation HFA used to certify these antics as halal but have mysteriously changed its mind and now no longer say these are halal.

HMC are more strict. so ALWAYS eat only from HMC approved restaurants. I do. it is even more SERIOUS business during ramadan because you wouldnt want to open your fast with "supposed" halal food.

No they have not changed their mind, it is some Imams have taken it upon themselves to make unsubstantiated claims regarding the HFA. Which really makes them a disgrace to their religion and the God in which they believe.
 
Yeah that's what I was hinting at in a roundabout way :p

These things are always dictated by people who can't seem to make their mind up and often flat out lie to get their way. Politics for you I guess.

Can I ask if theres a reason to shave your head for Ramadan? May be completely unrelated, but I just noticed 2 muslim lads at work who shaved their heads at the same time as it started.

Could have been just a haircut to be honest :p

It's not sad at all. He has a long history of many, many bizarre and odd things.

Plus, it could have been something else entirely (duplicate accounts perhaps), I doubt the Dons will say though.
 
Talking of KFC and Muslims, I've just got back from my local one which is staffed by Islamic staff and I dunno how they can work in that kitchen all day smelling that lovely chicken without taking the odd bite of a mini fillet.

I have a Muslim friend currently doing Ramadan, I didn't realise until this year quite how hard Ramadan is. the last few years haven't been too bad, but this year is really evil with the way it's working out. Right enough, she's already dreading next year :)

It does show a lot of commitment to a cause, though. I think the majority of us could cope with the food, but not being able to drink a sip of even water from like 3am to 10pm would kill me, 100%. Ramadan Mubarak to everyone right now.

Some of the comments in this thread are disgraceful. I'm about the furthest you could get from religious, but if people have faith, good for them, it doesn't matter what the faith of choice may be. Anyone who thinks the fundamentalist Islamists are crazy should watch the Louis Theroux program on the maniac Christians in America. Show a bit of respect to someones faith and beliefs.

Nop HFA cannot stick to one point..I promise you (unless as a human maybe I have made a mistake?) that few years back HFA were backing KFC then they stopped backing it and now i learn that they arebacking them again.

your links says "Some scholars have said this is fine" so you cannot actually say with 100% guarantee that this is fine.. who are these scholars?

Second: stunning can cause the chicken to die, how do they know it is not dead?

Third: saying Bismillah once and mechanically slaughtering 100s of chicken is not valid. you have to say bismillah on every chicken you slaughter.

Also if you go to HMC (second big organisation like hFA) you will see that they denounce mechanical slaughtering.. so who do you believe now?

I know you think you make sense, but you really don't. Who's going on killing sprees where on who? Did you mean Muslim suicide bombers? You have to be little bit more clear my friend.

You made a claim that the HFA had changed their policies on Halal slaughter, this has turned out to be patently untrue, that the HMC (a far smaller and brand new organisation) have different policies is immaterial. Given that the HFA is seen as the industry standard and the Halal Monitoring Committee was forced into bankruptcy this year (now being resurrected as the HMC to avoid paying back VAT) I would say that you are on shaky ground.
