I don't think you can order now. I think it is a case of registering your interest with either element14.com or RS and wait for the email they send you that allows you to order one.

The Registration page was up at 6am. I registered about 5 past after hitting refresh about a million times!!!

You would have been way to late registering at 8 mate

Well I registered at about 2 minutes past 6 and I've just received that "we've had extraordinary levels of demand" email again so it looks like they are picking names out of a hat.

Did you fill in Company?

I just registed on the farnell one lol. Bit late, but I only caught wind of the PI this week. I had been avoiding the threads for weeks because I thought it was hype about some tablet device. Doh! I did put my company name in though in a hope that it might influence whether they deem me to be important. I'm sure it won't.

I did fill it in but with something like NA

I can't believe they would only sell them to companies, this batch is supposed to be for developers and I can't believe a lot of the type of developers this needs are registered companies

Still no email from RS it's been over 7 days now

I have had 2 advising me that their is a massive backlog and that they will get me mine as soon as they can, but they have yet to announce a delivery date of any sort, so Im guessing that it will be a while..

It's first come first serve. Some people filled in the form as soon as it went up despite RPi tweets saying its the *WRONG* page.

For the company field, for those that remember the early version, it was a mandatory field (oversight on RS, and later the field became optional)

FYI I filled it in because I had no choice and I completed "Private Buyer"

They clearly took my pre-order at a couple of minutes past 6 whatever happened though as I am now getting pre-order mails from them.

Looks like they are gearing up for the orders with the site under maintenance. Ordering is imminent

RS are moving internal servers over the weekend, thats why the sites down for maintenance, been posted on a few forums.
Ordering shouldnt be long after though for those very lucky few. (me not being one of them, late may/june delivery for me).

Is there anywhere that sells small touch-screens, like a tablet? I was thinking it may be possible to hook the pi up to something like that, and have a cheap but decent linux/ICS tablet.

Farnell have many different screens available but you'll struggle to find one which can be run off HDMI without an expensive converter.

Considering you can get a decent android tablet with better specs than this for about £120 I can't see it being worth even trying unless you just want a project.
