...and that is when you realize it was supposed to be out almost a year ago. I think this fantastic team of engineers haven't done their CV any bumper points on the "product delivery" front...

Seriously, trying to sell stuff to school/kids without a CE sticker?

They were quite right that it wouldn't need a CE mark - if it was a development board! They should have been far quieter about the launch and ensured the first few thousand did actually go to developers. Their biggest mistake was to effectively have a public launch for a product that was still very much at the development stage.

This initial launch was never intended to be sold to schools or children. The later launch for education purposes would be a boxed raspberry pi that had full certification done.
Due to the popularity of the launch and the diversity of people buying the device they have had to bring the CE certification forward.

So, how about less of the daily fail style scaremongering?
 
Well I got an email today....about 3 weeks after registering interest....inviting me to buy it! lol. So I "bought" one and don't expect it any time soon.
 
So with them taking more orders does this mean production has been ramped up again. It seems rather odd they would continue to take orders when they have a huge back log of orders to fill.

So they've took your card details and charged your account?

Also RS or Farnell?
 
Im interested to know RS or Farnell. When pre-ordering through farnell you give them your card details anyway so i'd assume this is through RS.

I was in one of the first batches and I'm expecting June at the earliest now tbh. Ivy Bridge will appear before these do.

Remember they were originally supposed to be shipped November last year!

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous really. Going by your estimate then, I'm looking at at 3-4 month wait for one. Great.
