Has anybody got a checklist for the best components to run the Pi with XBMC?

For instance:
Is a 4 gig card OK or have people experienced that they which they had more so they could .........etc.
Which WiFi keyboard? Would a trackpad on it be useful?
Which HDMI lead, I watched a video saying some work and some don't?
I obviously want to keep the cost down as much as possible.

Is it possible while running XBMC that you can access the internet?

Thanks

Whether or not 4 Gig is okay or not depends on how you're going to run it... If you're storing your media on an attached USB hard drive or a file server then (for xbmc/raspbmc) all the SD card needs to hold on it is the xbmc database and fan art etc... More important is the speed of the card, as people have said that the slower cards don't run as well

On the other hand you could install raspbmc to a USB drive, which I found to be slightly faster than the SD card (comparing a USB 3.0 drive to a Class 10 Sandisk 16Gb card). You do still need the SD card to boot though, but that's all. Another advantage is that by running from USB instead there will be less writes to the SD card and therefore less chance of corruption.

If you read a few posts back - you don't actually need a keyboard or mouse at all, as xbmc can be controlled via a web interface or smartphone app.

I've had a play around with my pi and my maplin robot am (silly birthday present) , it's quite cool and it is possible to use voice control with a bit more tinkering.

Is it possible to get a RaspPi to run a game i made from a DVD or cartridge assuming i can connect the optical drive or attach a cartridge slot? If it really is comparable to the original Xbox, i'd like to try something like that.

I was ordering the Raspberry Slice case. I had to cancel as the person is absent for a few days. Anyway I found out it was sold by the same person, £1 cheaper somewhere else.

Well my idea under games will be emulators. 4GB roughly for RASPMC+ADDONS and 4GB wi be for ROMS.

n64,psx level not sure about if it will fit maybe n64 and all psx isos can be ran off a fliserver.(or/and n64)

um + old games too. Be nice multiplayer ones like Quake 2 being able to play on diff units. Over LAN

My screen is all laggy when i move the windows and i get the "unable to get monitor information" message.

HHHEEELLLPP!!

Google it noob!

Worked like a charm.
Step 1) sudo nano /boot/config.txt
Step 2) Remove the # symble from the line (#disable_overscan=1)
Step 3) hold down Ctrl X on the keyboard
Step 4) Press Y to save file
Step 5) Press Ctrl M to save it to MS DOS file type
Step 6) sudo reboot - At this time you will notice the POST screen will populate the entire screen.

Note: these commands will also work in Putty for windows as I have done it there to get the screen up to par.
Thanks guys, this has been stumping this IT guy with absolutely no Linux experience for a bit of time!

My Pi arrived yesterday :D
