Quinaay, what version of xbmc are you running? Are you using the builds in the link i posted above? 1080p, youtube, DTS, AC3, everything runs flawlessly with a 1ghz pi on those builds. its now looking like TrueHD downmixing is working too.
thanks for that, ill have to scratch my head and get around it at some point soon, for instance i wanted to install iperf on Openelec to see what my network connection was like because there isnt a addon for it anymore..deb files contain the information within them of where all the files go, you just need to run the appropriate command to install them. (*hint*)
hey this looks fun which Pi do you buy A or B? 256 or 512 version?

Guys, I've got a Pi connected to my TV in the living room, with a external HHD with my photos and music.
I've also got another Pi in the lounge connected to another TV.
My question is, can I access the HDD from living room pi to stream the content over
to the Pi in the lounge.
Both are running raspbmc, I've asked this question before, but I ended up screwing up the living room pi and it wouldn't boot
Any newbie guides out there?
Samba is an option too but surely if it's pi to pi NFS will be better?
Yeah for a linux setup, but I have both MAC, Windows & linux so SMB/Samba is better for me.
Plus it streams 40GB 1080p VC1 perfectly smooth so it suits my needs fine.
HDMI input board for recording:

It won't be funded though. $100 is too steep for this.
