Did anyone get this exact email? I know they expect there to be a delay of a couple of days for some people (which I'm fine with), I'm just hoping it's not going to be a few weeks like the back orders are :(.
We're really sorry...

Yesterday we launched the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B to the world. Due to the high demand for this exciting product you may experience a delay to your delivery.

We are working hard to resolve the issue and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. You will receive an email confirming when your order is ready to be despatched. Thank you for your patience.

I got that email too, Moothead2 - just a little while ago. Wish it had more details, but it was showing in stock when I ordered last night. Let's just hope it is a few days only!

Gone for this one from eBay. Not sure how good it'll be when I get my hands on it but I like the sleek look and the fact it doesn't have the PCB on view. It's only £4.99 so not the end of the world if it's crap but it looks decent from what I've seen. Hopefully it'll fit the Pi 2.

Another only slightly more expensive option, which is available from a number of sources, including the rain forest is this one:

I have got one of these and the model B+, and also hopefully the Pi 2 clip in nicely and securely, and like the other one can also accommodate an internal camera.
There is room for a standard heat-sink also.

Please don't hotlink images (that includes those in spoiler tags).

Cheers

Surveyor

Got that at 17:16 and a dispatched one at 18:20 with tracking.

My Pi2 arrived earlier and fits fine in that exact case :)

Before yesterday, did anyone else know about the pi2?

I'd been out of the country for two weeks and completely out of the loop regarding IT news. First I heard of it was in this thread when it was released!

Ordered one early yesterday when they were in stock, somehow they screwed up the order and I had to contact them this morning, now the Pi is out of stock - they soon took the money though :(

Same here, bought it on a total whim, no idea what i'll even do with it but thought it be rude not too at that price, question for any users out there, is it possible to turn one into a pvr of some sorts?

It seems to have been an extremely well kept secret until it was announced early yesterday (Monday 2nd February) morning. Prior to that I had not seen a mention anywhere of the fact that it was actually in manufacture, and 'ready to go'.

Equally surprising was that it was already in stock at the major UK distributors and that several members, including me, were able to order one, and have it delivered today!

Way to go! :)

I'd not heard or considered it tbh until saw it on hukd yesterday, thought what the hell, got email today saying delay in dispatch then shortly followed by a dispatch email with tracking details so will see, wifes away this weekend so have a new toy to play with hopefully

Was thinking this the other day Bledd. Are you going to try this?

I don't use PoE at home. Thinking more for work projects. A PoE pi would make a great temperature monitor. Along with countless other applications.

We already have a few Pi units in my work. Not had to resort to PoE so far, but it would be handy in a few locations.

Will possibly get work to buy the above combination and report back.

First saw it yesterday on Engadget and ordered immediately.

It's strange how there was zero hype about it online before it came out.

The B+ seems like a pointless middle stepping stone.

Where was that from?

I'm hoping my Pihut order will arrive today.. Was a couple of quid extra through them, but they had stock listed.

That was RS. Just called them and "we have thousands of units" coming... so many orders to process... can't tell when will be delivered. But you had in stock when I ordered... blah... blah...

Cancelled, ordered with CPC who confirmed stock.

Guys im going to get one of these PI 2 to upgrade from my PI B+.

I've always suspected the PSU i got with my PI B+ didn't give enough juice to power the USB ports properly?..i read about this elsewhere too on voltage drop or something and it was slowing down USB performance?

I have a Wireless N Network adapter + Bluetooth adapter connected.

I don't think i was getting the full potential out of my Wireless N network adapter as things would always buffer and be really slow,I have it connected full speed to my Superhub 2 and the wireless is fine because the speeds on my laptop, and phone are great...just not on the PI.

Should i get one of those 5V 2A Ultra HQ USB Power Supply's to replace my standard 5V 1A?
And will this be okay for the PI 2?
