Guys im going to get one of these PI 2 to upgrade from my PI B+.

I've always suspected the PSU i got with my PI B+ didn't give enough juice to power the USB ports properly?..i read about this elsewhere too on voltage drop or something and it was slowing down USB performance?

I have a Wireless N Network adapter + Bluetooth adapter connected.

I don't think i was getting the full potential out of my Wireless N network adapter as things would always buffer and be really slow,I have it connected full speed to my Superhub 2 and the wireless is fine because the speeds on my laptop, and phone are great...just not on the PI.

Should i get one of those 5V 2A Ultra HQ USB Power Supply's to replace my standard 5V 1A?
And will this be okay for the PI 2?

Looks good:

and is ok for the Pi 2 but no cable supplied.

That was RS. Just called them and "we have thousands of units" coming... so many orders to process... can't tell when will be delivered. But you had in stock when I ordered... blah... blah...

Cancelled, ordered with CPC who confirmed stock.

Same here, thanks for tip. I rang them and they had stock 2400+

cheers, andy.

Gone for this PSU.

5V 2A,
Cable goes 'down' from the top of the plug, a must for me.

Haven't they made a serious typo with the DC output though?

Surely 2A is 2000mA rather than the 200mA they quote!

It makes it even more confusing when they mention 1500mA on the next line, and then 2000mA a bit further down the page.

I am sure that this could easily confuse a lot of folk.

EDIT: For anyone who is after one where the fixed cable comes out of the 'top' of the plug, and who also might wish to use it abroad, then http://swag.raspberrypi.org/product...um=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=789719537 is a good alternative for the same price, and is quoted a being an 'official' power supply. It may be a bit cheaper from other resellers also.

TBH a good phone charger does the job, Am using a HTC which is 5v@2A .

Ordered my PI2 yesterday off the bay as RS was messing about again, Should be here between 1.45 -2.25 according to my message.

Should be considerably better at streaming with 4 cores. Mind you I think most ask to much from from such a small/cheap device tbh

So basically they won't be sending them out now until close to the 20th if you haven't already gotten a dispatch email?

How hard was it to cancel with them? I've ordered one from CPC now to save the hassle so I'm going to have to give RS a call to cancel. Annoying how they don't have an online system to cancel unshipped products...

Answered my own question. Gave them a call, said I'd like to cancel a Pi order, gave my order number and she cancelled it nice and quick no questions asked.

Nice and quick in case anyone else was wondering :).

Must be getting a few calls like that. I suppose RS are the first go to as a vendor. They were for me. Like you say though easy to cancel over the phone.

Just done the same with RS components, quick and easy to cancel over the phone. Have ordered from CPC and chose express delivery, so here is hoping for Friday at the latest!

A quick question: Does the Pi 2 stream 720p/1080p flawless??
Or is it still laggy??

What are you streaming from and what type of network connection.

The only issue I have playing from my NAS is DTS-HD audio, it happily plays uncompressed VC-1 1080p rips with only the audio re-encoded to AC3

From plugins that are using a external website to stream.
I can understand that movies from external streaming can be slow buffering.

But also streaming from my samba shares (Lan) is laggy...
And I have a 50/5 Mbps network connection.
