Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PS5

The only gripe I have with the game so far is the fact that it looks so bloody good that I can't even tell when the cutscene ends and gameplay starts. Been a couple of times I've thought the game has frozen when it's just been me!
I mean…that’s a good thing right ? Insomniac have clearly done such a good job, you can’t even tell when your supposed to be playing :D

You needed to buy online and collect at store or delivered to get £5 knocked off via a code.

Yeah I tried to order online but it would not let me due to area and stock I guess. TBH I was out with the 4 year old so I did not have a great deal of time to look into it and I just wanted to make sure I grabbed a copy for tonight. Really impressed with it so far though!

Haha I know what you mean. Its like watching a an older Pixar movie a lot of the time and the cutscene to gameplay mix is seamless.

I have to admit this is my first R and C game and I'm loving it. Haven't been one for platformers since my earlier gaming years really but seeing how this looked I had to give it a go. Very impressed.

How does this play, are there lots of innovations?

Its a somewhat surreal experience, the game takes excellent advantage of the controller and audio - you're being bombarded with audio, haptic feedback, on screen action with a million particles while jumping between levels - it's a bit tiring actually giving so many senses a real workout

Looks very nice but beyond the graphics and load times I'm not seeing anything groundbreaking here for the asking price? Happy to be convinced otherwise though.

For you guys who own it, is it true its only a 5-6 hour game? Any replayability potential?

I've also read that gameplay is more or less the same as last game and the mechanics are very repetitive, as are enemies and gameplay in general. Any truth in that?

Was tempted to splurge as it does look lovely but just concerned it's all looks and not enough substance.

It’s a typical ratchet game similar to the last. No idea on total time but I’m at %26 and been playing since Thursday a few hours a day. I’m in no rush to finish as I’m really enjoying it and spending a lot of time exploring.

As someone who has never played a Rachet & Clank game, is the new one worth getting into, or do they build on the stories of the previous ones?

Absolutely! This is next gen in its infancy, I'm excited for the next however many years! :D

The transitions are ridiculously good. It gives the game such a smooth flow.

Again, thank you for the tips. Just claimed the games on my account :D Now I just need to finish up Mass Effect: LE. I'm one of those people who likes to 100% a game before moving on to the next.
