Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PS5

Think I am nearing the end now :( Might have to try and plat it, seemed quite short but loved it

One thing I hated was the Glitch characters voice, realllllly grated on me, plus I wasn't a fan of them virus puzzles either.

Yeah some of the puzzley bits got a bit old towards the end. Im at the point of no return now. I don't feel like I'd want the game to go on much longer though to be honest. It's quite action packed throughout. It might only be 12-16 hours or whatever but with the non loading it packs more in than the average game of same length and doesn't really have replayability.

Just got the Plat.

Great game if a little short tbh.

8/10 just because I feel it's lacking a little content, they should have put some trophies behind the challenge mode but didn't and now I feel like I have nothing really to work towards.

I am interested in playing this but at £50 its a bit steep if its pretty short. I think i might just play through R&C PS4 at 4K 60Fps on the PS5 as i will not be able to remember most of it. Giving me time until there are plenty of played copies in the market hopefully be able to pick it up for less than £30. While i appreciate games that look great, play great, show off the technical ability of the new console and be fun I do enjoy games that have a nice length in the campaign (12-15 Hours at least) and decent amount but not overloaded with side missions for it to be worthwhile for me at full price. Games such as Farcry, Tomb Raider and HDZ fit the bill well in my opinion. A decent story that you can just focus on and complete along with optional challenges/collecting afterwards or do them both at the same time.

R&C 2016 is worth a play through and the patch was a nice addition. It's good but not great. This is a more enjoyable game in both terms of story and the added QoL improvements that the PS5 brings. I imagine you'll be able to pick it up second hand quite reasonably and quickly as its a big seller and not too long gameplay wise.

Ive spent ages trying to work out how to get all of the higher up Zurpstones with that damn Trudi, couldn't grab them at all, couldn't jump off, couldn't fly into them, I thought it was bugged! Turns out after collecting 45 of the damn things from lower ground you magically get a fire ability to get the higher ones?? lolwut. So random.

I was the same yesterday. Couldn't for the life of me figure it out until I had collected enough then ooooh that's how! I died a lot lol

Nearing the end now. Bit luke warm on it now overall but still worth a play.

It's gorgeous with excellent use of the haptics, but outside of that it wasn't really doing anything that ratchet 2016 did for me.

The rift aspects weren't as impressive as they were made out to be for me.well no they were impressive but maybe underutilized

I finished it yesterday and it was impressive from start to end. The parts where you are constantly jumping dimensions is just so next level. I bet the SSD was breaking into one hell of a sweat keeping the data flowing it does not have the best of cooling.

My only complaint is the lack of grass and foliage interaction. I found the length to be fine and I’m going to play through again pretty soon. A genuine masterpiece of gaming and a great showcase for what these consoles are capable off. The dev interview say there is more on the table and I cannot wait to see what they do next…..

Finished it last night, fun final segment.

It's worth a play to see some of the PS5 Features in action, SSD, Haptics etc but it's not one I would revisit.

A solid game overall, and doesn't overstay it's welcome

I got a bit bored of the PS4 version and never finished - it looked great, but gameplay was basic. Is this more of the same? I'll get it either way for the graphical showcase - it's just whether to get it now or in a sale.

I think they should have put the Platinum behind some of the challenge mode.

You have omega weapons etc but not even sure why.

Other than the odd miss step I found it all pretty easy, more running out of ammo than anything else.

I think you do? I had to do the challenger mode to get the pixelizer gun to get platinum

I pre-ordered and got that gun.

But that and the granade gun are avaliable for 1 bolt upon getting to the first store in challenge mode. (Was the last thing I had to do to get the platinum)

Was surprised to see you didn't have to max out all guns for a trophy and then maybe some extra tough boss fights in the arena where maxed out guns are a must would have been pretty cool.

Yeah there was a missed opportunity with the trophies. They should have had a trophy for doing level 5 on every gun and then another for level 10 on every gun and trophy for finishing challenge mode on hardest difficulty and maybe some hard end game boss
