Ok so this is shamefully ripped off from the man utd forum but basically list your first team squad and rate them from 1-10

Mine:

Goalies:

VDS - 8 - Doesn't get a 9 because of his age you never know with injuries, so far though that doesn't seem to have effected him
PIG - 7 - Better than most reserve keepers

Fullbacks:

Rafael - 8 - Potentially world class
Evra - 10 - Best LB in the world (arguably)
O'shea - 7 - Very useful squad player
Neville - 6 - Not that bad in a last resort kind of situation
Fabio - 6 - Never fit, cant pass judgement

Centrehalves:

Rio - 7 - NEVER fit
Vidic - 10 - One of the best in the world
Evans - 8 - Cant see how anyone can question his ability
Smalling - 7 - Haven't seen any of our pre-season games but by all accounts is already capable
Brown - 5 - A liability at CB now IMO

Midfield:

Fletcher - 9 - Will never be highly thought of outside of the club but as important to us as Lampard, Gerrard & Fabregas are to their respective clubs
Carrick - 8 - Has to get back on form following last season, nothing to say he wont
Anderson - 5 - Surprised he's still at the club to be honest, this could be his last
Gibson - 7 - Still has it all to prove but his goal scoring is something every other midfielder lacks at the moment
Scholes - 7 - When he's good he's still outstanding, when he's not he's dire
Giggs - 8 - See above but to a lesser extent
Park - 7 - I think centrally in a 3 has to be his position from now on. Very useful member of the squad
Nani - 8 - Potentially world class, needs to prove it on a regular basis though
Valencia - 9 - Outstanding wide player, from his 1 pre season game so far it seems he wont have a problem reproducing last seasons form
Cleverly - 6 - Doubt he'll get games tbh

Attackers:

Rooney - 10 - No brainer
Berbatov - 5 - Simply not a goal threat
Owen - 7 - Very useful member of the squad
Hernandez - 7 - Probably too soon to really say, promising signs though
Macheda - 6 - Needs to show his goal scoring ability in the Carling Cup this season to really push on

Can you explain the Carrick one? You seem to have given him an 8 because apparently he will 100% be amazing and get his form back?

Also, you rated Smalling due to the pre-season but from what i read, Cleverly was also quite impressive.

Agree about Anderson though. :p

Evans - 8 - Cant see how anyone can question his ability

because he looks bad almost every time he plays? i dont see how he can score more than 50% higher than brown does.

Fletcher - 9 - Will never be highly thought of outside of the club but as important to us as Lampard, Gerrard & Fabregas are to their respective clubs

a crutch player that we need ONLY because we have no other hard tackling defenders. IF carrick could tackle or scholes then we wouldnt need fletcher AT ALL. its only because as i keep saying our central midfueld is so bad and one dimensional that he even gets a game at all.

Fulham;

Goalkeepers

Schwarzer - 8 - Good keeper, makes the odd mistake, but is still solid.
Zuberbuhler - 5 - Just there as a backup I think, he's about 60.
Stockdale - 6 - Still pretty young (considering), hoping to see more of him this season, been capable in pre-season

Full Backs

Konchesky - 8 - Very good in attack, and good in defence.
Pantsil - 8 - Same as Konchesky really, he would get a bonus point for his lap of honour after every game though.
Stoor - 6 - Seems to have a bad attitude, but still looks OK, and is wanting to try prove himself to Hughes.
Kelly - 7 - Decent enough, bit shaky sometimes, but comes on and still does decent enough performances.

Centrehalves

Hangeland - 9 - Nothing else to be said really, him and Hughes are the reason we do so well, oddly his weakness is actually his heading!
Hughes - 9 - Probably our best centre back, definitely the unsung hero, and is always fit.
Senderos - 6 - Not sure yet, has only had a sub appearance as far as I'm aware.player, not sure how Hughes will use him.
Baird - 7 - Was used at right back in his early Fulham career and was shocking, seems a lot more natural in the centre though.

Midfield

Murphy - 7 - Great the season before last, and good in the first half of the season, I think his legs are starting to catch up to him, he'll have one great game followed by two bad/average games, need a replacement sooner rather than later.
Etuhu - 7 - Does his job, just clean up and pass to the nearest person!
Dikgacoi - 7 - Only played a handful of times, but each times looks more of the destroyer type player, but can actually handle the ball very well, looking forward to seeing more.
Greening - 6 - Decent enough backup for Murphy, had some of our best results with him, not quite as attacking as I'd like though.
Gera - 8 - One of our star performers, always gives 115% and scores the odd goal.
Dempsey - 9 - Again, one of our star players, versatile and a constant thread, does have the odd quiet game though.
Duff - 9 - Just a constant threat, with we had got him earlier in his career rather than towards the end, seems to be rejuvenated with us though.
Riise - 7 - Got a great cross on him, seems quite tricky too, probably see more this season.
Davies - 8 - Was awesome last season, even straight after a long injury, just hoping they don't keep hampering him.

Attackers

Zamora - 9 - Always been a good player, but the goals just never really happened till last season, definitely a confidence player.
Johnson - 5 - Always injured, when fit he is awesome, but has just been out for too long now.
Elm - 6 - Just a like-for-like backup to Zamora, target man wise.

Can add Dempsey/Gera to the attackers, as we're low in attack!

Ok i'll have a bash, seems like fun.
A lot of our players are still young, which means they might yet be worthy of high ratings, but as of right this moment, aren't. Not quite sure how to do this therefore, but here goes:

Goalkeepers
Manuel Almunia - 5 - A good shotstopper, but mad as a bag of rats, too unreliable to be a #1, but I would tolerate him as backup
Lukasz Fabianski - 3 - still young, and Wenger is keen, but I'm not. Prone to costly errors.

Fullbacks
Gael Clichy - 8 - Really rate him, not quite an Evra or a Cashley, but still improving
Bacary Sagna - 7 - Had a poor season last term, but I think he's decent
Kieran Gibbs - 7 - I think he'll be England's left back one day, but he's still got it all to prove
Emmanuel Eboué - 6 - had his trials and tribulations out of position, but he's solid at RB
Armand Traoré - 4 - Poor, looked out of his depth last season

Centre-Backs
Thomas Vermaelen - 8 - impressive, if overhyped first season, solid centre-back.
Laurent Koscielny - ? - who knows, could flop, could be a roaring success.
Johan Djourou - 3 - Might be a good defender, who knows, the only person at the club who knows him well is the physio...

Midfield
Cesc Fabregas - 10 - Our one genuinely world-class player
Abou Diaby - 6 - Still not sure what he's supposed to be, tall and strong, but baffling.
Samir Nasri - 8 - Lovely to watch, perhaps a little lightweight
Tomas Rosicky - 5 - Like Nasri above, but with bones made out of balsa wood and bits of eggshell
Denilson - 5 - The footballing equivalent of beige. Achingly average.
Alex Song - 7 - Looked a better player last season, hope he can keep improving.
Aaron Ramsey - 7 - Sadly injured when he was just getting games, looks a great prospect
Jack Wilshere - 6- Again a wonderful talent, could be a future 9/10, needs to bulk up now though
Theo Walcott - 5 - Class pace, but that's his only forté, needs a good season, but it aint likely!

Forwards
Robin Van Persie - 8 - Boundless talent ruined by injury. Will miss half the season, but be our best striker anyway.
Carlos Vela - 6 - Talented, but inconsistent. He's our Nani, but not as good.
Andrei Arshavin - 8 - Should be an 9 or 10, but lately he's looked sadly disinterested :(
Marouane Chamakh - ? - We shall see, looks a talent, but will have to impress
Nicklas Bendtner - 6 - frustratingly profligate finisher, but still young.

Tom - Amos? (He is part of the squad, so he deserves a mention even if he hasnt been tested at EPL level yet)

Always thought Brown was a better right back than centre half (even though I know even prior to last season he has played at c/h a number of times)

I wonder how many other EPL clubs have three sets of siblings on their books (Evans, Da Silva and Brown, with only the younger Brown not in the first team squad this season):)

Fabio should be as good as Rafael (probably already a better defender) - really hope he gets lots of time on the pitch this season

For the record Goonerfan, RVP started 24 games last season and scored 11 goals, 9 assists, Bendtner started 24 games last season and scored 14 goals and got 6 assists. yet you choose to call RVP world class if he wasn't injured, and Bendtner who had more injuries last season and played injured in both the league and world cup, is just a profligate striker who is only worthy of a 6. Despite having outscored RVP last season.

RVP scored 1 and got 1 assist in the champs league, 3 games though, Bendtner scored 5 in 7 games in the champs league, also a couple of assists, 1 goal and 2 assists against Barca for a start.

Also in the world cup RVP scored 1 and 1 assist in 7 games, Bendtner scored 1, 1 assist, in 3 games, which he played with an injury and didn't start all 3 games.

But Bendtner is catagorically significantly worse and profligate than RVP.

Considering the stats, would you mind explaining how?

Hmm, it would also appear in a season Bendtner outscored RVP, he had 69 shots, while RVP had 95 shots, and in the world cup, with 4 more games and 13 more shots, he scored exactly no more than Bendtner. Seriously, Bendtner is more profligate because, he had that one bad game he should have got a hattrick?

This thread just highlights the delusion of fans, Song, a 7? wilshire a 6 with THeo on a 5, Sagna a 7, diaby a 6, Rooney a 10, Vidic a 10, Valencia a 9, Nani a 8, Fletcher anything about a 5, Carrick above a 5.

Goalkeepers

Manuel Almunia - 6.5 - Better then most people give him credit for.
Lukasz Fabianski - 3 - just terrible sell him!
szczesny - n/a
Mannone - 5 - Young, lacks confidence but is quite decent, needs some time.

Fullbacks
Gael Clichy - 7
Bacary Sagna - 6.5 - Had a poor season last term, but I think he's decent
Kieran Gibbs - 6
Emmanuel Eboué - 10!!!! (6 :D)
Armand Traoré - 4

Centre-Backs

Thomas Vermaelen - 7.5 - Prone to mistakes but still pretty solid!
Laurent Koscielny - n/a
Johan Djourou - 5 - Decent but injury prone and makes too many mistakes.

Midfield

Cesc Fabregas - 10
Abou Diaby - 4-6 - No consistency, he's great when on form (90mins) but a passenger most of the time.
Samir Nasri - 7 - Too soft but has great skill, needs to shoot more!
Tomas Rosicky - 6 - Injury prone.
Denilson - 5
Alex Song - 6 - I don't see what most Arsenal fans see him in him, he's a bit above average.
Aaron Ramsey - 6 - Never seen him properly, looks promising though.
Jack Wilshere - 6- Looks great but still needs some time!
Theo Walcott - 6 - Average, needs to learn to use his pace properly instead of running into dead ends.

Forwards

Robin Van Persie - 7.5 - Great team player but needs to shoot more and refrain from being injured.
Carlos Vela - 6 - Good future player.
Andrei Arshavin - 6.5 - I'm sorry but a few moments of brilliance doesn't cut it, needs to put some effort in, work on his defensive play.
Marouane Chamakh - ? - We shall see, looks a talent, but will have to impress
Nicklas Bendtner - 7 - lol. Annoying as hell to watch him play, needs to work on his first touch and consistency.

Can you explain the Carrick one? You seem to have given him an 8 because apparently he will 100% be amazing and get his form back?

Also, you rated Smalling due to the pre-season but from what i read, Cleverly was also quite impressive.

Carrick on form I think is an 8, no reason to suggest after 1 poor season he cant get back to that

As for Smalling/Cleverly I haven't seen any of our pre-season games but from what I gather Smalling is ready hence his 7, Cleverly I cant rate because I haven't seen him play and has probably got about 7 or 8 players in front of him - not sure my logic works but what the hell :p

because he looks bad almost every time he plays? i dont see how he can score more than 50% higher than brown does.

Just rate your goddamn team.

Fair enough.

Mine:

Goalies:

VDS - 7 - Sometimes he's a 9 other times he isn't, getting more erratic as time goes on.
PIG - 7 - Didn't think a lot of him until last season where he came in during a different period and did well.
Amos - 6 - Has seemed pretty competent from what I've seen, hasn't been massively tested yet though.

Fullbacks:

Rafael - 8 - All he needs is game time, has the potential to be a great.
Evra - 10 - Best LB in the world, Does more for our attack than most of our midfielders as well.
O'shea - 7.5 - I think he gets undue criticism, very adaptable and has really been consistent in every position he's been asked to play.
Neville - 4 - Every time he gets the ball my heart skips a beat, too slow, keeps giving the ball away.
Fabio - 6.5 - Would be higher if it weren't for Mr Evra, has looked as talented as his bro but hasn't had the chances yet. Hopefully see more of him in the cups this year (and possibly at the start with Evra out)
Brown - 7 - I'm putting him here because I'd rather he were here than CB.

Centrehalves:

Rio - 7 - Annoyingly absent, on form he is one of the best. Just remains to be seen whever he'll ever get that back for an extended period.
Vidic - 10 - One of the best in the world
Evans - 7.5 - Has done astonishingly well in such a high pressure role, no doubt in my mind he'll be a regular for years to come.
Smalling - 6 - Has looked a little unsteady in preseason, bit harsh to judge but I have nothing else to go on (unless I listened to Syke in which case it would be 10 :p)

Midfield:

Fletcher - 8 - The man other club's fans love to hate, such an important player for us. Still find it hard to believe how far he has progressed.
Carrick - 7 - Frustrating, needs to find his form again
Anderson - 6.5 - He can still make it, was very unlucky with injuries last year.
Gibson - 6.5 - Needs to prove he has more to his game than shooting every time he gets the ball.
Scholes - 7 - The passing range is still great, the lapses of concentration and losing possession are not.
Giggs - 7.5 - Had a poor spell at the end of last season but generally looks better than Scholes.
Park - 7.5 - Had some good games last year, has a very specific role that he is good at, not so good when we're asking him to be a Valencia or Nani.
Nani - 8.5 - Attitude has come on very well, really working hard at all aspects of his game, especially his tracking back. If he can carry on his form from the end of last season then he can become a crucial player for us.
Valencia - 9 - What can you say, impresses every time I see him, fabulous work rate, gets the ball into the box regularly...what he doesn't have is the goalscoring or two footedness that would really up his game.
Cleverly - 6.5 - Hard to tell off just a pre season but he looks a pretty talented and hard working midfielder, will hopefully see him in cup games.

Attackers:

Rooney - 10 - Has it all, hopefully we can play him with another striker this year to avoid the games where he gets frustrated from lack of support.
Berbatov - 7.5 - If we had more midfielders that scored he would be brilliant, his passing, control and build up play are second to none in our squad. Sadly he just is never going to be a 20-25 goal striker for us.
Owen - 7 - God knows, did well last season, far better than I expected. Will have to see how his fitness is, great goal last week.
Hernandez - 8 - Possibly a touch high but has scored some great goals at the world cup and in pre season, phenomenally quick and has a really good awareness of defenders positions. I can see him tearing up some defences this year.
Macheda - 6.5 - Needs more pitch time, it's holding up his development at the moment. I'd rather we gave him a loan until xmas or something.

Goalkeepers
Almunia - 6 - One of the best sweeper-keepers around allowing the defence to push up, but isn't quite good enough for a team in the Champions League
Fabianski - 4 - capable of great saves but looks nervous at times, easily bullied on crosses
Mannone - 5 - Haven't given up on him yet
Szczesny - ? - haven't seen enough of

Fullbacks
Eboue - 6 - Fantastic drive, came back well last season after getting a lot of stick from fans
Sagna - 7 - Suffered from second season syndrome a bit, it may be that if he doesn't kick on Wenger will be tempted to cash in on him
Clichy - 9 - Arguably our best player in 2008-9, constant threat at both ends of the pitch
Gibbs - 6 - looked very good in preseason a couple of years back when he was deployed on the wing, I'd say he's probably one of the most overrated players at the club now he's at fullback
Traore - 3 - Looks unplayable rampaging down the wing against Derby reserves, but woefully out of his depth playing LB at the top level.

Centrehalves
Vermaelen - 9 - hard to fault really, maybe could do with an extra yard of pace but I'm very happy to have him in the side
Koscielny - ? - not seen enough of
Djourou - 5 - probably wouldn't still be at the club if the 4 contracts had been renewed

Midfield
Diaby - 6 - I was convinced last season would be make-or-break for him, but in the end, he stayed true to form - a bit of an enigma. His mazy runs provide a welcome break from the passing at times
Fabregas - 10 - probably the most important player to the team since we last won a trophy, he makes such a difference with his incisiveness
Nasri - 8 - genuine threat
Rosicknote - 7 - best player in the world with the outside of his boot, which is just as well really as he has no left foot. Tempted to mark him down a touch due to injury proneness, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt
Wilshere - 7 - the real deal, can't really justify rating him higher until he starts dominating at the top level though
Ramsey - 7 - injury was a real blow as he was just starting to come into his own
Song - 6 - Much improved last season, he gives too many freekicks away for my liking though. Still wouldn't mind seeing him replaced.
Denilson - 5 - Not scared to shoot from range but few other redeeming features. Starts a lot of games under Wenger which is strange when you consider the alternatives available to him

Forwards
Arshavin - 8 - a real livewire who is capable of the unexpected. Was very disappointing in the Emirates cup however and I can see him looking to move on if we don't win anything this year
Walcott - 4 - lacks composure, a highly frustrating player who gets himself into good positions and then makes the wrong decision. Opposition goalies must be getting sick and tired of him, all those goalkicks wears you out after a while
Van Persie - 8 - Very good understanding with Fabregas, if both of them stay fit he could have a great season
Vela - 5 - too inconsistent and rarely offers anything when he comes off the bench. If he was good as people think he is, he would have made more impact even from limited opportunities
Chamakh - ? - not seen enough of
Bendtner - 6 - Aerial ability and link play maintains his place in the squad, not his finishing ability.

Must be because I dont see as much as him as the Arsenal fans but I've always though Traore looked every bit as good as Gibbs.... more so in fact
