I have a 5400mAH 3-cell/3s 11.1v battery that has a split case.
Is there a site you could recommend for replacements?

Edit:
Had a quick look on rainforest and it seems they're all fairly similar. I'm looking at the following as potential additions/replacements:
  1. Zeee 11.1V 7200mAh 80C 3S
  2. FCONEGY 3S Lipo Battery 11.1V 40C 5500mAh (not sure on this one as the temp rating is lower)
  3. HRB 2Packs 3S Lipo Battery 11.1V 6000mah 50C
I would avoid generic stuff on amazon unless you don't have a choice

There's some well priced 3s lipos on modelsport:

Something like this maybe? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/gens-a...v-5000-45c-lcg-deans-/rc-car-products/1331549

I actually ordered a "Dusty Motors" cover for it yesterday which should be with me by Tuesday.

I took it out yesterday and used 2 batteries, think I got about 30 mins or so out of each. When I checked voltage when I got home to put into storage charge it was 3.5 so I'm guessing that is the cut off.

Now one thing I have to check is the steering, on the testing I thought it was very twitchy but I think that was just me having to get used to it. What I wasn't so sure was at a point the car seemed to do what I wanted ie I was steering right but it was going straight, or at one point I wanted to go straight but it was going in circles, even from stopped. At first I thought it had gone out of range but it was responding ok to throttle.

What model is your transmitter? Is it an STX 2?

thought about saving for a corally radix as a second 8 scale buggy, but im committed now to getting my hyper 7 black nitro converted to leccy as a second leccy buggy to go along with my hyper vse.

this heavily used bad boy :)

rear diff had a knackered seal, luckily i got an ecig one to fit, and other 2 diffs had intact seals

top deck been dremelled to make space

dad gave me the green wheels with badland tyres on them :)

gonna be sweet to see my hyper 7 go again, just waiting on the cheapo motor mount and gonna buy some electrics on friday, gonna go for a 150 amp hobbywing esc and a 2200kv motor and run 4s to start with.

took all the diffs apart and cleaned em and put some 15k oil on back one 100k middle and 50k at the front which is the same as my hyper vse.

the center diff was almost dry, dad is doing similar to his old hyper st and his center diff was almost dry as well.

before any one asks the engines are already in the mail to some one from msuk :)

really looking forward to getting the old hyper 7 up and running again plus i still have the ishima on nitro and a shared hyper tt, the only damage i seen when cleaning diffs was one of the long pin screws was bent slighly and my shock toweres are slightly bent, the hyper 7 is a tank :)

edit: the holes on the shell left from the missing nitro engine and fuel tank access, im thinking of using some stainless steel mesh that i used to use for ecig wicks to cover the holes and will have the added bonus of some airflow plus keeping dust and stones out :)

woohooo got the hyper 7 conversion finished today and it goes very fast with a hobbywing max 8 and a 2200kv motor on 4s with a 17 tooth mod1 pinion, feels good to have my old hyper running again :)

Loving my Arrma Typhon, I use it a few times a week great fun.

Got my eye on the new Arrma Vorteks now so may pick one of those up when they are available.

kool good to see people getting into the hobby and enjoying it, leccy motors and batteries have come a long way now :)

oh i just seen the price for the 4wd vorteks, you could get a 150 amp hyper vse for that :)

fitted a front sway bar to the hyper 7 as it was cocking its back wheels a lot under the sheer power of the motor, also on its first test run had a old guy approach me and dad, he loved it, he was like wow thats fast etc and turns out he used to fly nitro's and stuff and 80 year old now, was a good fun chat :)

edit : https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobao-hyper-vs-1-8-rtr-buggy-150a-esc-blue/rc-car-products/439895

simultanously , dad helped a bit with my hyper 7 conversion and here is his hyper st https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/246989-storms-hyper-st-conversion/ as my hyper 7 was the guinea pig, i done his diffs :p

he just finished the st earlier :)

They do look nice but it pretty much a buggy like my Typhon, I was after something different. I'd like to get an Arrma Infraction but would really struggle to find places to use it. A truck would give me more options but I don't want to go for the Kraton quite yet.

no worries just thought i would mention it :)

edit: the hyper 7 had its second run earlier, omg is it fast very fast, the tyres stayed on the rims this time and no missing screws that im aware off, i had my 100 amp vse out earlier tryng to pin point a wierd noise that happens on full throttle.

the 4s vse is so tame compared to my hyper 7, front roll bar on hyper 7 stopped it cocking its back wheels up by a fair bit, best 7 odd quid i ever spent :)

edit 2: turns out i dont have badlands tyres on it, they are hot bodies ones hpi.....

dad bought a set of they tyres years ago and never used em, their getting used now :)

gonna buy a evil green spoiler next to match the wheels :)

tip for the H7 brushless conv, double up on the front shock tower and try to get the Hobao CNC one for the rear. Hobao thought it was a good idea to make these out of cheese  I was constantly having to bend these straight in a vice after a good bashing session.

got one on back order so today i grabbed the plate that used to sit between the nitro engine and chassis and dremmeled the middle bit off.

the screw holes lined up perfect with the ones i was already using on the shock tower woot, that should make it a lot stronger :)

 Ah the memories.....

You can also put a piece of u-channel between the front and rear posts as the chassis braces tend to fail if doing insane jumps.

got a old kyosho dbx and had a second hand one for spares years ago, started to dremel bits of the chassis to give a bit more reinforcement to proper models, and it might even be long enough to make a center brace, also gonna strip down the knackered intact one and get my self a load of random screws washers bearings etc and another chassis to dremmel lol

9hpzky9.jpg

reinforced the back shock mount again, also the new one showed up but ill see how all the reinforcing holds up :)
