RDNA 3 rumours Q3/4 2022

If they release the 7900 cards then it is unrealistic to expect the price to be under £850. And if RT perf is not at least 25% above the 3090 is not worth it.Maybe not in every game but at least in Metro EE we should see at least 25% better than the 3090 for the Radeon cards to be competitive. I expect some Nvidia sponsored titles like CP 2077 will bring patches that will make the gap between 4090 and the new Radeon cards even bigger in RT.
Rasterization i think AMD will have no problem to be faster than Nvidia, they were already close with the big navi on much lower bus. But who cares if you get 300 fps instead of 320? :)
For me a good announcement will be RT perf > 25% than the 3090 and keep improving FSR. I am not interested in DLSS 3 alternative, i think that is a dead end but FSR still needs improving and larger adoption. A big problem is with the updates, you can't expect the devs to update their games every time you update FSR.
Oh and i hope the 7800xt will be priced under £850 when released. :)

But FSR is free, you didn't pay anything for it...... :p  ;)

Agree on everything there except I think they need to get something out to compete with frame generation/dlss 3 sooner than later as that is going to be in many games now and on the whole most end users seem to rate it, could be a blow to amd like not having a dlss competitor for over a year was, amd are lucky atm that not many games have dlss 3/FG, however, as is the case with dlss super resolution, the adoption rate is quicker than fsr 2+....

That's what exhaust fans are for

You referring to my post I assume? :p

Got decent airflow but when I switched from my undervolted sapphire pulse vega 56 to the 3080 fe, cpu temps dropped by 10 degrees and that was before any undervolting on the 3080 too.

HIS? It's website is a bit odd in that it needs Adobe flash for full functionality and appears to be stuck in a 2015 time-warp :D
Just had a look, wow! Seems they literally just abandoned the scene, last post on their twitter was 2015 and their site isn't even secure

6900xt was/is very good value when compared to the 3090 but the 6800xt wasn't a great price at msrp imo, no dlss competitor and poor RT perf. yet only £50 cheaper than the competitor, £50 is nothing when spending £600+ imo and having said that, "zero" chance of picking one up in uk for MSRP anyway and of course the stock situation :p Fingers crossed amd announce uk store tomorrow but going by gibbos recent post, very unlikely.

Agree I think the 6800xt should have been £575 and see how it goes from there and slowly to incourage buyers drop it from time to time to £550 and a game and people would have snapped them up right away and not looked back at 3080s.

I also agree with some of the arguments that have been going on here in last few days regarding AMD pricing compared to Nvidia as the problem for AMD is CUDA/OPTIX (pro user want these), DLSS (gamers want that) and better RT compared to AMD, so what they did was add more VRAM to make it look better value 16GB (which was very welcome) but reality was people were buying them to game on as most pro users have moved to apps that use cuda and optix all Nvidia only.. What they should have done I think is made the 6800xt a 12GB card (not taking a jab at you and the 3080 10GB) as that was a perfect VRAM amount in 2020-2022 and for a good few years to come.

Halo 6900xt and 6950xt with 16GB they could charge what they want as long as less than the 3090/ti and they would have sold too and make smaller amounts of the Halo cards as they clearly got stuck with them and 6800xt's 12GB would have sold easily and in large amounts as it basically was a 3080 with slightly worse RT, they have the other software gimmicks now so they don't count really anymore when compared to 30 series.

Now Nvidia has given them another gimmick Frame generation to catch up on, I don't even want to call it DLSS 3 as it's nothing more than DLSS 2 with frame doubler .. meeh..

I don't think FG is too difficult to recreate because the eyes can be tricked and they will perceive any movement on screen as a new frame but for anyone who understand these are frames pulled from Jensen's butt, totally disconnected from user input, FG is a dead end.

Ok serious moment,

Who is really excited about tomorrows AMD gpus and thinking about buying one if they turn out to be good and a decent price ?

We won't start a poll just like this with a thumbs up if yes and sad face if not interested at all and laughing face if not sure.

I'm a thumbs up so far from seeing the so called leaked specs.
I'm ready to upgrade from vega64 and 6600k soon, just waiting on this and the 3D cache on the 7000 series cpu before dropping the coin on it. Served me well for 6 years though.

Super f'n excited as my current setup struggles to run PoE at the end game. :)

Well we'll need to see competitors frame generation to gage just how good/bad nvidias is, based on other techs such as upscaling, I imagine nvidias will be ahead of the game for a good while especially if it is true of them having worked on it for 6 years

From then to now...

Then I thought it was amazing, which it was for its time and what I could afford, but was really happy with it and had most fun on that system.

The first one is from a time when PC Gamers had to make do with a PC case, not something that was designed to be aesthetically pleasing, the fact that there was a market for that had not yet been discovered, not like now where you can even buy mouse mats with rainbow puke in them.

Still, there is something about those old cases, they are not pretty and the inside of them never looked tidy as many component manufactures were experimenting with ascetics, like that Nvidia? CPU cooler.
