The first one is from a time when PC Gamers had to make do with a PC case, not something that was designed to be aesthetically pleasing, the fact that there was a market for that had not yet been discovered, not like now where you can even buy mouse mats with rainbow puke in them.

Still, there is something about those old cases, they are not pretty and the inside of them never looked tidy as many component manufactures were experimenting with ascetics, like that Nvidia? CPU cooler.

Agree it was a different world then mate. I always had a plan to spray it a black colour but never did as was worried the plastic would look bad on the front as I saw people back then do it and looked worse than what they started with, needed a proper spray system and paint and a lot of time sanding.

As you see even with my current case I don't have glass side panels as not one to look inside the case and the RGB on any components is normally switched off was just for the pic the gpus and mobo was lit up. As you see I didn't even use the cable combs as I just tie wrapped the cables neatly as possible more function over looks really.

Ahh the good old floppy disk bays! Can't excuse the clash of beige case with black DVD player/burner!

And black fan holder that fits the bays, was only way to add more fans in a neat way at the time and they came in black and white then. Why I wanted to spray the case black but never did in the end.

I did a PC for the wife (before we were married) back in 2003 era. The case looked turd so a can of purple spray paint and the case sticker of tweety pie done the job, did look ok.

Remember no such thing as a bad product, only bad pricing... so lets see what AMD pull out of the hat tomorrow. If priced well and not as fast as a 4090 it will still be fine as we really know what a 4080 16GB is and where it stands, so between the 4080 and 4090 at a good price and needing 2 x 8pin it could be a winner and no hassle trying to get cables made or ordered to make these things work in a safe manner.

I'm going with greedy AMD, $1499 for the 7900XTX and $1199 for the 7900XT regardless of performance. A $999 7900XT with 75% of the 4090 perf would be a win for us I think...

I think your bob on with the prices there. £ instead of $ though (maybe +£50 for some models due to UK tax exchange rate).

If we're lucky we'll get a 1:1 conversion, but again due to no direct store we may see a 10% or so markup.

edit - I'm gonna need to hear some FSR 3.0 news too I think, some hardware acceleration for a big bump to combat DLSS 3.0.

90% of 4090 rasterisation performance but cheaper and doesn't draw a small village in power is my hopes. Ray tracing is whatever for me still at the moment.

I don't expect that to be the case but I don't mind being pleasantly surprised.

Dollar price plus VAT is approximately a 1:1.05 conversion. $1,000 plus VAT is £1,050.
