Yeah it's as expected, you take AMDs numbers at their word and the gap is still as massive as it's ever been, if not even bigger than before, between the latest Nvidia RT performance and latest AMD.

That being said the 7900XTX's RT performance isn't bad and with FSR enabled it should have decent framerates so I want to see all games now shipping with RT no more excuses developers

I'm actually really happy with those figures so i'm defo looking at getting an XTX sure Ray Tracing may not be that good but to trade/get close on rasteration is excellent for me. It looks like AMD went the Intel route and priced vs what their weak at vs what they are good at. If Raytracing wasn't a thing this would be selling for £1500

Frankly at half the price of Nvidia GPUS at around £1000 cheaper i'm gonna be picking one of these bad boys up if they are around £1000-£1100

So AMD’s best card is two times slower in RT vs Nvidia’s. Sad times.

Expect next gen NV to cost two times more than it already does. Gotta love the lack of competition…

This must be said because Nvidia is not the only company trying to sell us a 4070 as a 4080. AMD is also doing this trying to sell a 7800 as a 7900xtx.

In effect, the 4090 is really the 4080 if you look at number of cores which are disabled. The gap in performance between 4090 and 4090 Ti is greater than 3090 and 3090 Ti. Really the 4090 should be the 4080. The 4090 Ti should be the 4090 and there was supposedly an 800W RTX Titan in the works which has been scrapped for now.

It is pretty funny to me that all that seems to matter now is RT performance. Nothing else is even relevant to a lot of people it seems.

I think they could hike the price more next gen the Nvidia fanatics won't question it , I think £2.5k should be safe

The fact you fail to grasp this is unreal.

Looks like AMD will trade blows and be within 5-10% for pure rast performance, and about 50-60% (yes it's a lot slower) of the performance with RT which while growing still isn't adopted by as many games as to make it worth the additional money, for online competative performance I wouldn't use it anyway.

The card is (for me at least) over £1000 cheaper for on par Rast performance.

£1100 - AMD XTX

£1700 - 4090 (£600 more)
£150-£200 for a new power supply (£800 more)
£150-£250 for a new PC case (£1000+)

The Value of this product is insane.

People with a 7900XTX or something equivalent from Nvidia are the audience that will be able to run said RT in a meaningful way yes?

That's not going to shift many copies of the game.

Until a good quality version of RT is usable on midrange cards developers have to question the benefits to them and any special reasons they'd put RT in despite it being only for a niche audience. Like a tech demonstration or a manufacturer paying for it to happen to generate more interest in their expensive cards.

Gotta have those 600 fps in csgo amirite?

Raster is irrelevant, no one needs either of the top cards for raster only. For raster you might as well buy a 2 old gen card and be happy with that.

If the tables were turned, everyone knows the hypocrisy would be real sweet to read.

You mean the top tier visuals that many people admit they turn off unless they're playing a slow paced single player game where FPS is less relevant anyway?

Neither product is garbage, just one is massively less expensive and does the vast majority of tasks about as well, while using significantly less power and being significantly easier to fit into a case.

So you have a 4090 already or you still play at not so top tier visuals on your older hardware? How did you survived the last 2 years having at most 7900xt level of RT performance?

well thats ray tracing now with a 4090.... AMD holding back gaming as always with dog turd RT performance when it should be a priority feature people who buy the top card from them expect.

If they keep hiking the price every generation surely at some point even the Nvidia fanatics will question it ,

I actually like what AMD has done kept the RRP the same while giving good up lift from its last generation

That's true, it's raster performance looks good and sure it's RT isn't up there with the 4090 it is 60% cheaper and I think most people would look at that take the 60% price saving over higher RT performance
