I remember all the noise from the 3090 vs the 6900 XT. Look how that turned out in the end.
How did it turn out in the end?

The 3090 beat the 6900 XT.
I quoted all the "RIP 3090" in the thread. Then when the 6900 XT reviews came out....they were all quiet
And resolution. I think 1080 and 1440 was a win for the 6900xtDepends on what game you played. Pretty sure in Valhalla for example the 6900XT clearly beats the 3090.
I don't know about you but I'm not buying a expensive GPU on release hoping it will improve with gaming performance against the competition 12 to 18 months later due to driver updates.Did it? Last i looked they were basically on par or at least traded blows depending on the game, and that was a year ago or more, i'm sure any gap between them has narrowed due to driver updates.

Similar with the 6700XT and 3070. People say the 6700XT is competitive with the 3060ti. But it isn't.Did it? Last i looked they were basically on par or at least traded blows depending on the game, and that was a year ago or more, i'm sure any gap between them has narrowed due to driver updates.
Like people buying a GPU hoping that more games will use RT or fake frames?I don't know about you but I'm not buying a expensive GPU on release hoping it will improve with gaming performance against the competition 12 to 18 months later due to driver updates.

526.47 is the better driver now and came out yesterday, it seems to have cured some of the strange things I saw on loading screen on SOTTR too and seems stable too.I don't know about you but you should check the recent nvidia driver 522.25 lifting it few%...
The newest driver causes artifacts in Modern Warfare II (MW2) so rolled back to 522.25 which works fine in MW2.526.47 is the better driver now and came out yesterday, it seems to have cured some of the strange things I saw on loading screen on SOTTR too and seems stable too.

Plenty of people buy such cards to play at 1080p (or even 1440p)And resolution. I think 1080 and 1440 was a win for the 6900xt
Plenty of people buy these cards without the right power supply or CPU, so yeah it sounds about rightPlenty of people buy such cards to play at 1080p (or even 1440p)
