Reacher - Amazon TV series 2022

Sending two amateur hitmen to take out Reacher's crew. The hitmen couldn't even get a shot on target when being rushed in a straight line, despite having rifles with scopes. How did they hope to get a hit in the funeral crowd.

The men in uniform were the first ones to disappear after the first shots were fired.

And Sanchez flying across the screen taking a bullet for Reacher.

I've tried to watch the episode twice now

Yeap, lots of "silly" and/or "unrealistic" things in this season so far.

Knowing they were being hunted, why would they still go to an obviously public funeral and risk the public's lives. That sort of "unrealistic/silly" plot choice just doesn't sit well with me and I'm not enjoying this season anywhere near as much as the first, although I'm not sure how much that is down to 'Reacher' being a bit-part role in this season as his team takes a lot of the screen-time away from the main character, even if I like a few of them.

I assumed they were meant to be useless to lure them in for what happened at the warehouse at end of the episode?
For that they would have had to keep one or both alive, the second hitman giving up didn't seem like it was part of a plan.

If the hitman didn't complete the job why was he returning to the warehouse to collect the rest of the payment? They go through all the trouble to set the explosives at the warehouse yet don't have anyone spare to leave behind for a remote detonation once the targets are all inside.

It feels like one of those "we need XYZ to happen to move the plot on, so we'll quickly knock something unlikely together to make it happen" plot devices that doesn't usually occur in Lee Child books that often, although I've not read this specific book to see if its been directly lifted from it or whether its a TV production thing.

Loved the book, one of the better ones imho, the series is a bit cheesy but I’m loving it, I think they are going full “he isn’t Tom cruise is he” on this season.

Been enjoying it so far, but imo its not as good as season 1.
As mentioned above, too many silly things happening ie. the 2 snipers at the funeral, the way they took out all the bad guys waiting in the house to ambush them, etc..

Not really feeling it this season at all, not a fan of him being in a group or team, I thought the idea was Reacher was the man who did it alone with some help he found along the way, seems to soon to be doing a buddy bunch series that fall from one clue to another.

Better episode this week, felt closer to s1 Reacher.
If you like bad 80's action movie levels of plot armour and
Frances: Hey Reacher you should try playing a first-person shooter. Reacher: I AM a first-person shooter
then this is a fun episode, but I don't remember anything in S1 being THIS cheesy :D
