Reacher - Amazon TV series 2022

Not enjoying the second season as much as the first, preferred the drifter caught up in something opposed to the elite team stuff.

I agree, also, I dont remember having to wait between episodes for the first season, not sure if I waited until it all dropped before I watched it or I'm cracking up, but think waiting a week between episodes kills the continuity of a show, how spoilt are we these days when they drop an entire show in one go....

From what I can tell they are moving away from the drop all in one go approach generally on the streaming platforms.
Some say its because of the sign up, binge, cancel subscription that many are trying to do.
Keeping a show running over at least 2 months avoids that. (Although they could always wait until all episodes have been put up then sign up of course)

Personally I struggle to avoid just binging a series outright. I think if I could pick it would be a release schedule of say an episode every 3-4 days (ie 2 a week) as they keeps everything fresh, but at least means series I like last more than a weekend!

The more it goes on the worse the story gets, they know who they have to get etc, but they are still going about as if looking for clues, he literally talked to him on the phone multiple times lol, knows where he works etc.
Reachers strength or whatever swings massively from scene to scene, its getting pretty annoying either he's a machine of a mane or is struggling with no lines lackeys etc. From the start he punches though a car window with enough force to knock the guy out the other side, the next he's barley able to fight of a guy half his size..which is it?

I can only really parrot some of the other comments made in this thread. I'm enjoying it, but not as much as S1, and there's too much 'other people stuff' going on.
S1 was good as it seemed to be him vs the world ("I'm a lonely loner, on a lonely road...alone") but now it's more of a generic cop/crime fighting gang procedural show with plot delays being inserted to drag it out to more episodes.

I haven't read all the books, but the books are like this as well that I have read. They vary, book two I would say sits between how series one and two play out on Amazon.
They are not all like the first series, the first book.

Some things are close to the books, some not.

I'm going to read this book (its 8 iirc) after the series, will be interesting to see how closely it matches, since its one I haven't read.

Ruined the show with the OTT gun fights crack elite teams who can't hit a barn door from 2m even with a multiple automatic rifles.

Just poor unimaginative crap writing tbh.

Why the heck did the police guy tell the girl to get out of the car and run? He was doing fine where he was shooting from.

And that lady standing in the rain in the middle of that scrap yard like a robot. The bad guy decides to come himself. Then the helicopter with the machine gun or auto misses reacher.

And lastly that guy getting ploughed by the car, was he dead and blind to the car?

I hope next week is a longer episode. Think it’s the last one and there’s a lot to resolve.

Thought it was stupid that two of the team were captured. Why would they go back to the same motel. Surely their MO would be to keep moving to different places.

Spoiler about Neagley:

I could swear that the films made Reacher seem like a good guy who tried to avoid killing people and was a well meaning vigilante of sorts..
This version, which having Googled it, seems more true to the books makes him out to be a cold blooded murderer..

It's tainted it for me, because it was almost a show of his intelligence that he choose the right time to kill people only when he had to, or knew he could get away it without being caught.

Now it just seems like sloppy writing that he wouldn't be caught and tried for being a serial killer the way he keeps dispensing with henchmen and dirty cops.
It's almost like cctv doesn't exist on planet Reacher.

Why did two of the team getting captured happen off-screen?!?!?!?! I mean the one time they got bested and we don't even get to see it!

This week was all just setup for the finale next week. Enjoyed it for what it was, but they've left a lot to wrap up, hope its a 1 hour episode.
