Reading Festival 2007

white is ok, although you have to get a boat, other than the boat ride, there next to no waiting. But there can be a big cue for the boat. All depends what time you get there/ leave.

Just to say last year, when we got white on the thursday morning we had to queue for about 2 hours to get on that boat.

We had a crate of fosters with us mind :)

That's where I parked last year.

I've ordered green and white this year.

The annoying thing was I got there about 8am on the Thursday. Right at the front of the field. There was no queue for the boat. But my friends didn't turn up till 10. We had to wait 2hours for the boat :(.

But if anyone needs a car pass, I'll have one free. Need to see a map of where the green one is before I decide.

You ordered white? I thought white was the one you turned up on the day and parked in, hence the low priority service. Maybe they've changed it this year. Oh well think it's my first one in 6 years I won't be going to.

No i dear, ordered white last year as well. It's the one they advise, if your coming in from the west.

Might have to take you up on that. Didn't realise you needed parking tickets as well, got a lift last year.

What's the advised park for chelmsford direction (East I guess)?

It may be the guy who ordered my ticket (mate I driving with) or one of the other two I'm giving lifts have ordered a parking ticket without realising (hopefully :o) so I'll have to wait and see. When do they get sent out, and how much would you want for it?

Thanks a lot. :)
edit: had a check.

GREEN CAR PARK(FROM LONDON/EAST) £0.00 £0.10 £3.60 SOLD OUT
ORANGE CAR PARK(FROM WEST/M4) £0.00 £0.10 £3.60
WHITE CAR PARK(FROM NWEST/B'HAM) £0.00 £0.10 £3.60

Obviously if you want white, then great, although I might as well get the white one off you if you want green, as they greens are sold out, but then you'll recoup the money.

Just paid for my tickets, and they cost me £430. Not happy but they were sold out before i had a chance to buy them.
how many tickets did you get?

Surely if you went on wed you'd have got them face value to combat the touts on the gates.

hey just a quick question me and mate are looking to get to the site on thursday around 11, do we need early entry permits for this?

Only need them for wedensday as far as im aware

Just got an offer to work. 12 hour shifts, roughly minimum wage. Tough decision. Worked glast earlier this year. Anyone ever worked on the site before? I've read and experienced some stories that it can be pretty awful, gas canisters etc.

I got two tickets, allowing entry on the thursday and a parking ticket for that much. I didnt want to risk the traffic or not being able to find a ticket on the day. "better safe that sorry"

Yay! tickets turned up this morning. Dont think weve ever had them turn up two weeks before the event, usually two or three days before.

Leeds is usually a lot rougher than Reading on the actual sites, I've never seen it get to rough at Reading

Reading 05 had gas from camping stoves blowing up all sunday night.

Also jumping on police cars with "trolley fights" where two trolleys with people in are pushed towards each other on the metal roads at high speed then crash.

Police came and their cars were climbed on, so they left.

No fighting though, which is good. Not that I saw, anyway.

Leeds isn't rough. I was there the year it "kicked" off. It was simply the people against the establishment. they closed the toilets so they got fire bombed. I didn't see any fights and I was running around like a loon. Just lots of camping gas exploding. Bog roll over everything and toilets being burnt down.
