The hardware spec difference only really accounts for framerate - which this video did not look at.
What they are comparing is how DLSS reconstruction using AI compared to AMD's reconstruction.
And clearly Nvidia wins easy with just half the pixels. So your only argument is that if the PS4 PRO has a 5700xt it could use 4 million pixels to try and catch up with image quality and then still get spanked in frame rate.
Where have I said anything about an RX5700XT?? I said it had an RX470. You are making up stuff - the PS4 PRO has a Polaris based GPU equivalent to an RX470. So the PS4 PRO went back in time, and applied a Navi update??
A quote from the video:"the pc has excess power,so the pc is not standing on equal ground compared to checkerboarding". It looks like DF disagrees with you.
Checkerboard was something Sony worked on and asked AMD to integrate.
The PS4 PRO is RAM and processing power constrained,so is rendering internal settings much lower anyway, which DF has pointed out in multiple comparisons in the past. The GPU is running on a CPU slower than a modern Atom.
You do understand, things such as AA need to be added internally during the whole reconstruction process anyway, and that is directly related to the amount of GPU processing power.
Plus its not only internal resolution but texture quality, and internal rendering settings which are also related to the amount of internal GPU power. You wouldn't know that as you obviously don't try mainstream GPUs,etc where you have to ramp down internal quality settings.
Then not using the built in hardware scaler, which means its running in software mode. They even said the PC was unfairly advantaged.
Its hilarious that, hardware enthusiasts have such low standards now, they think a £250 console being beaten by a GPU which alone costs more than the console. So why is this GPU needing to use upscaling at 4K?? An RTX2060 is 2.25X more powerful than an RX470 at 4K,and the RTX2080TI is 4X more powerful. Plus they have additional die area for the tensor cores. It should be doing native 4K with better FPS,and better details.
Maybe they can compare it to the PS3 then,I assume it will look 1000x better.
I love it how PC enthusiasts mocked consoles for being so weak, they needed upscaling. Now PC has it,its suddenly totally not a way to sell underpowered GPUs for more money.
Considering AMD loves copying Nvidia,we can both see their GPU margins rise even more,as they can render stuff at worse resolution and sell it as a feature. More for less. Apple really made the world a better place!
