They are already falling out with each other, the war has been the only thing really holding them together they have no organisation and no defined goals. Will be interesting times and I certainly suspect we haven't seen the end of the civil war just yet, too many young men with guns and different tribes for everything to be peacfull.

Yup, nice little country, we have helped.

How much needs rebuilding!

He would have done had we sided with him, meaning its rubbish to say we supported the rebels to get oil contracts we.... Already had.

No one is saying that. Put it another way, would the rebels have honoured Gadaffi's contracts with BP had they won? Probably not - and remember that in the first few days of this conflict it looked like the rebels were going to win on their own.

Anyone done the

Gaddafi Duck... Oops you didn't

Line yet?

Anyway, getting rid of him might help healing somewhat, Libya is a different situation to Iraq, hopefully some stability will come of it, but there are very few stable Muslim countries where there is not a dictator in charge, very few indeed, and those that are seem to welcome corruption and bribery as stable diet.

Hum I wonder if it was really necessary to kill him. None of us know the exact circumstances but I'd have hoped that every effort would have been made to take him alive. :(

they were probably advised to take not take him alive as it prolongs everything, it all ends much quicker if hes dead and theres no need for trials that could go on for weeks.
you would have thought maybe the NTC would have wanted to show the world they arent a bunch of amateur rebels though dragging his dead body through the streets etc shows the world they are a bunch of savages , im suprised no one beheaded him like they do on the videos of the libyan soldiers on the obamas libya website

uhh why is a picture of his dead, bloodied body/corpse on the news???????

is that the done thing nowadays? Lets see all the closeups of the dead? Did we see Bin ladens corpse? Saddams?

Disgusting.

Quite. What happened to a bit of dignity for the dead, regardless of who they are?

I don't want my young niece logging on to the BBC news site and seeing pictures of a dead body either. :/
