what is it with receptionists...supposed to be the front line in communication and the face for the company they represent...but most are just evil. Now even worse, GP receptionists, im sure in the job description it asks if they "like" people as a preferred skill but not absolutely necessary. just venting as had a particularly rude one today.....

The receptionist at my doctors surgery is a bitch. I think she's the 'practice manager' or some such made up none-job, but she's a cow of the first order. Attitude from the moment she answers the phone. I'm glad she's a relative 'nobody' though!
 
Front of house but in most cases, FRONTLINE DEFENCE. Stops all and sundry getting through.
 
I needed my GP Signature on some documents recently and he remarked how he had not seen me for over 5yrs, 'Yes' I said, 'I persevered and eventually managed to get passed your Receptionist!'. It must be easier to illegally enter the UK than it is to make a Doctors appointment nowadays. They should put all GP Receptionists on UK Border Patrol.
 
One of the receptionists at my dentist is a fat tart who is utterly useless. Even the other receptionist gets wound up with her.
 
They can be so incompetent, receptionist fetches my prescription, I say "there's supposed to be two", she then spends nearly 5 mins typing on the computer to tell me that the doctor wouldn't prescribe another because it had already been done a few days ago, I tell her that I didn't pick up the one from a few days ago, she then goes to the box and immediately picks it up, why the hell did she just spend 5 mins on the computer instead of taking another glance in the prescription box? And why on earth did the computer system not tell her that I hadn't picked it up?
 
Glad someone else noticed this! Receptionists: none of the skills ti do any of the jobs in the offices behind her yet thinks she rules the damned place. I've seen it so often: dentists and doctors are my worst...
 
As stated, these are the people on the front line who are supposed to represent the company/organisation yet the employers seem to choose the worst candidates and pay them peanuts ........................... insert something about monkeys here.
 
The dentist receptionist is a right stuck up cow. peroxide blonde hair and it looks as if she has had a facelift thats gone wrong. I detest having to speak to her. She can be so rude at times and also has the most annoying squeaky voice.
