Red, Brown or Black...

yeah, with browns I would guess nothing would go wrong. With reds people say they can't rest their hands on the keyboard as the force to push is so little.

Unless your hands weigh a heck of a lot and you have no muscle control. The actuation pressure isn't that little haha :)

I cant quite easily rest my hands on the keyboard without registering presses.

I got a Filco majestouch 2 recently with red switches and I'm very happy with it, its used mainly for gaming. I found my typing accuracy has improved as I no longer seem to mis-key as much which is quite useful.

Best advice is pop along to your local purple parade or similar and test a few of the mechanical keyboards there and then source cheaper online.

I tried all the switches out in Barcelona last weekend (they have a cluster of about 10 dedicated PC component shops, motherboards on the wall, etc, never seen anything like it!) and noticed...
The blacks have the same feel as the reds but there was no way I could type on them, they were so heavy. I've since verified that they are a slightly heavier activation switch, but boy it makes a big difference.
The blues felt the nicest to type on for me by a long way (can't remember the exact keyboard) but the noise was not going to work outside of an anechoic chamber.
The browns I tried (can't remember the keyboard) felt different to the browns on my new CM Storm QF TK, which I'm struggling to love... its my first mech keyboard.

I've also found that the activation pressure, on the browns at least, relies on the angle and location of attack, so if you are typing fast then some keys can resist a bit more which is off-putting. Not sure whether this is just my keyboard, the model, the switch, or all mech keyboards.

I hope you like the Logi :)

This actually happens to me! Hated it when I first got it but kinda got used to it now. Love the sound the reds make, too!

Ducky Year of the snake is coming in this week!
Ordered the reds. Should be fantastic since this is my first.
When i tested out the reds, i didnt have problems with resting my hands. I thought I would have, but i didnt. I'll update you guys if I have the problem.

LOL, nice to see everyone agrees. I guess as long as we're all happy with our own keyboards that's all that matters. :D

Just you or the keyboard! :)

lol... thanks for keeping me real, Ryan :)

Takes time to get used to these clacky things, but I'm slowly coming around. I wonder if installing those cushioning o-rings would mean I could be less precious with how I hit the keys? Might try it.

I've got a red keyboard at the moment and whilst I appreciate the floaty nature of it, cant type on it and it ends up making a lot of noise as I have to bottom the keys out to make sure they register, it also generates ghost key presses when typing for me.

Damn. Regretting my purchase of the YOTS red :S
Hopefully itll be like what I expected. I bottom out on membranes so I dont seem myself NOT bottoming out with reds. Anyway, that bottoming out sound on mechanicals is phenomenal.
Will update in 2 to 3 days on the verdict for me!

It's great for gaming no doubt, I code a lot on the same keyboard and it's not perfect for that. I'll probably go Brown / Clear next time.
