Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

The sounds are pretty good. Today I was doing a bit of hunting (gotta get those satchels upgraded) early in the morning and I heard a weird whooshing noise behind me that panned over me then in front of me and it was the most hugest Owl. Right there. I was just awestruck by that moment. This game.

I think the thing that I like most about this game is just the whole visual experience. The world is beautiful, playing alongside AC Odyssey you can really see the difference - AC has a huge map but it all just looks very similar. I like how diverse the map is here.

The world is incredible, there's no doubting that. I killed a turkey, came back past that spot about an hour later and a fox was eating it!

I'm enjoying it a bit more now by slowing down and just roaming around, I still think it's clunky and too scripted on the main missions but played with an attitude of just soaking up the atmosphere it does grow on you.

I just came across some bandits and was about to kill them, instead while I was checking their camp one of them started telling a story. It went on for about 10 minutes as they were all sitting round the fire. It was quite sad. In the end I thought I'd leave them alone... But then I read online that I actually need to get where they are for a challenge, so I chucked some Dynamite in the middle. It killed 2 of them and the other 2 ran off. The whole camp startee burning up though(great effects). I finally got to where I needed to get(a grave) when an alligator ambushed me!

Some really great moments in the game which you can make for yourself

Some ***** stole my horse tricking me into helping him and took off, dumped my saddle in the middle of nowhere.
Not really liking the sluggish 30fps after coming from a predator monitor, feels like walking in treacle, nice graphics though.

Yes but the nailed on point seems to be a bit odd for me, maybe it is just me but I always seem to be looking more down than behind.

There's 2 or 3 different camera heights to chose and in settings you can adjust how fast camera returns to center position or completely turn it off.

Yeah the visual and sounds in this are great, the small details are what make it stand apart from most games, I found an old church ruin with its bell, the weather turned stormy and the bell started to ring in the wind.

Agree completely the small details are incredible. I'm about halfway through chapter 3 and I'm enjoying it but I do get a 'wading through treacle' sensation every now and again.

I'm much preferring just playing this in short stints now, I can understand why people are frustrated with it if they just grind out mission after mission in one long session.

I don't agree with an earlier comment I saw in this thread about the world feeling empty and lifeless, this game has one of the most realistic, alive environments I've ever played. I swear some people are playing a different version or something or live in an alternative reality :D

I sold this game after a few hours due to the awful controls and the game not auto saving frequently enough.

After having to redo missions due to that I gave up after one of the horses that was pulling the wagon got hit by a train.

The controls are pretty crappy to be fair, going back to ACO for example feels so much nicer to play.

Other things really start to irritate after a while, for example changing your weapons whilst on your horse then when you get off they disappear. Or starting a mission and the game decides which weapons you should have on you, why?

I did enjoy the game but it 100% began to get tedious by the end, I just wanted it to finish. Other games I will go back to do the achievements but I doubt I will with RDR2.

8/10 for me.

Anyone else feel Ambarino area is underused, I mean it's a huge area, It would've been nice if there was small town in the North. It makes for quite a trek if you want to go hunting in that area. I guess its nice to have a big area of wilderness as well though.

I'm going for 100% completion then I'll call it quits until Online comes out. Currently at 96.9%, only have the challenges left to do now.

I turned auto save off, much better to me anyway. Gives you total control of your saves. I use 5 slots and not had a problem doing it this way.
Still on chapter 3 it's a massive game feel like I've been on with it forever...in a good way though, don't want it to end, class game.

Played my first few hours last night - this game is great, but the controls are bloody awful. Took me some messing around before I figured out how to hogtie and stash the dude on the horse because the tooltips were going nuts.

Also why in this day and age are devs not allowing us to use gyro aim on PS4 when you can use a DS4 controller on Steam and map it for PC games FFS?

Try the Standard FPS or Alternate FPS control options mate, found it a lot easier than the standard set-up personally.

Completed Chapter 5 and I think that's killed this game for me now, didn't enjoy that chapter one bit, I just want to get it completed and sell it on now - Halfway through Chapter 6, is there much more left to do? :p

It is a great game and so detailed but some things are infuriating, like the guns just randomly (or script-idly) changing! Don't see any point in eating lol - How fat can Arthur get, any pics? :D
