Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

Nice.

Looks like it doesnt take the £20 off but it gives you a credit to your account of £20. I stuck a cheap t shirt on there and it works out at £45 in total

I signed up to Very, but the code was invalid. I made it just over £50. Help?

Oh ok thats a new code. edited.

OK the above code worked. What is "payment to account" ? I don't want to spend 50 on very and get a £20 voucher.

I hit add to account thinking it would just add it, i apparently bought it but i put no payment info in and £250 credit still is there, im so confused.

Correct; when you add the promotion code it presents like a credit note on the account until you get to the payment screen, where you can choose to pay via paypal or card. On that screen it should present as an actual discount. I paid via paypal and got the submission email almost instantly with the correct discounted order amount.

Just a heads up for people using the very codes might end up coming back to bite you

Please be advised this page is being closely monitored by our Head Office as we have found screenshots are being shared by individuals who are targeted.

As per our T&Cs; These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it.

  • By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:
    • you are entitled to use the code;
    • you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
    • you agree to the terms set out below.
  • If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

Will keep an eye on things then. I think i'll be safe as i placed an order yesterday, then decided to change the delivery address to my house so cancelled the order. Tried to re-order and got told the code failed. Got on customer chat and was told to re-order and they'd just apply a credit to my account. No voucher used :D

I’m not sure how they’re going to track whether you’re entitled to use it or not. The code works for some people but not others, indicating to me that those using it successfully are those entitled to use it.

But having read some of the negative comments about Very’s business practices, the pessimist in me thinks that they’ve used this promotion as a way to get people to buy from them so that they can purposefully revoke the code and recover the advertised discount by the methods mentioned in their message, and that when that happens most of those having ordered will just leave it because they’d have to send the product back after receipt or purchase from elsewhere at the normal price anyway.

I'm surprised that sort of behaviour washes with the banks. Surely a rather dim view would be taken if a debit transaction is taken without the account holders’ consent?

I paid with paypal in this instance. Time will tell.

Been using Very for a long time and never had an issue, saying that I only use codes provided to me via some kind of promotion.

Just like this time, had a code sent through the post way earlier, never though anything of it until I realised I can pre-order this game using it. Thankfuly kept the letter with the code which worked right away.

I’m not sure how they’re going to track whether you’re entitled to use it or not.

It's Very. They probably won't. They'll just check against their mailing lists, then charge everyone else an extra £20 and wait for the customer to prove they were entitled to the discount.

I got charged £49.99 with a £20 refund supposedly coming within 24 hours. I suspect I won't get the refund...

Picked up a PS4 Pro a few weeks ago especially for this and booked release day off work. Can't wait!

Decided to pre order the special edition from Game as I wanted a physical copy and will be able to go down to pick it up at midnight.

Gave in and put in a pre-order for this. I was going to wait, as I have plenty of other stuff to play - but.... it's RDR!!

Put in a pre-order for the PS4 Pro/RDR2 bundle at GAME. Considering buying a 4K TV (Sony XF9005) or monitor (LG 27UK650) for this and other titles but still undecided
