Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

Christ the epilogue dragged on.
Did anyone else find Abigail and her whining face quite annoying? You're also kinda robbed of justice at the end by Dutch, great game just not a great ending really.

Finally found my first link to treasure. It's the first High Stakes map. Only found as the guy i robbed it from was staring out towards where it was!

Usually i can't find a damn think as the maps just look like a million places!

Just been playing the single player recently. I get to the point where I am wandering about to find things to do. Hunted the Legendary White Bison and Did the Serial Killer mission last night. I just wish they would add more story or events to keep me interested. I have got loads of challenges to do but I find them to be a little vague. For instance the dragging someone for 3300m with the lasso... Been trying that and it either doesn't register or they die too quick..

There would be very little point in beta testing if you don't think that what you are testing is at least very very very close to the final product. That would be akin to testing a product, finding that its a mess and then changing everything and just releasing it. You test to make sure what you have is ready for mass consumption, not to test something that bares little resemblance to the product you want to release.

The story is so long MOST of the side missions just get in the way I found, and the challenges are pointless you get nothing of note for doing them.

The challenges are only really worth it for the achievements and for forcing you to experience all the different parts of the game. In terms of the rewards, they are pretty pointless as by the time you finish a challenge you are unlikely to need the reward. Same goes for most of the trinkets although a few remain useful even late game.

The sense of progress is a bit broken really, you start off with no money but very quickly end up with more money than you can spend unless you are constantly getting high bounties. It's a shame that sidequests don't give you unique rewards rather than 90% of the time being honour and money (or nothing).

The only true progress is from growing cores (or buying them in horse form) and better weapons but even those don't improve that much and the game often chooses your weapons for you (which is very very annoying).

Loved the game though, taking a break for a few weeks as I finished the main story, will return and put in another 10-20 hours hunting, exploring, etc just to enjoy the game world.

Yeah. The weapons were a bit meh. Not being able to ditch them and having to scroll through all of them, and all of them being pretty much the same, was a bit naff.

As for those worn weapons that you might, now and again, pick up without actually wanting to and they become your default regardless? That was just lame.

But overall, you have to forgive that.

I just started the first Red Dead again today. Thought I might be disappointed but holy hell. It looks not too far off at all. Awesome upgrade they've done with this.

And the story? It just follows on. Makes sense.

Gonna kiss goodbye to another 100 hours of my life now.

Bring. It. On.

I'm finding it quite hard to get into this, was really looking forward to it but it feels a bit too slow at the moment. I'm only a couple of hours in, so I hope that once I'm a bit further in it will change a bit.

The first few hours are very very slow, it’s more of a prologue and a tutorial. Give it time though, a masterpiece even with the clunky controls.

In places it is very slow. Its not a fast paced game in the slightest and the progression at later in the game can get very sluggish. But I think that is very much in keeping with the game and story. Its a very very good game, just a shame that there is very little to do in the game after you have done the main story apart from completing challenges and hunting animals. Yes, there is online beta but I found that to be a complete dumpster fire in places with griefers almost every time I logged in. I did have a little bit of fun with the multiplayer shootout bits tho.

Finally finished it today, massive game and for the most part, pure class. There’s many things wrong with the game, yet I enjoyed it all that much the niggles paled into insignificance. 9.5/10 for me, loved it.

Just installed the update on Xbox One and the frame rate has turned to absolute dog-****

EDIT: Nevermind, just force quit the game and did a full shutdown, everything nice and smooth again
